Long story short. Not my fault. I can not take this up with my insurance company because I don't have one. We got his info. My car has 140K miles on it. It's worth about 2K. It wouldn't be worth it to fix it. I decided to get the estimate and put the cash to another car. I have not signed anything yet.

Insurance Company Quoted $1013.76
Auto Body Shop $1162.04
Ford Dealership $1284.90

271.14 difference. I asked to split the difference between the auto body shop and the Ford dealership. The Insurance compnay ofcourse said no. What should I do? If I had gone to an auto body repair shop of my choice with 1013.76 in hand they would have called the insurance compnay and asked for them to kick down more money. So I think it's fair that I get more cash. Don't even get me started on the medical. My health insurance is getting billed. Not the insurance company.

The guy backed into my car when it was parked. I was not driving it. It was parked to sell it. My BF and I were sitting in the car out of the rain writting out a new for sale sign. My bf drove around after the accident and the car vibrated like crazy. The insurance company didn't even check the alignment or add it to the estimate. The estimates don't even include the alignment so there could be more damage.

The medical people are refusing to bill the insurance company responsible. They wanted me to pay up front and get rembursed later or have some other insurance cover it. I didn't want to wait I had torn musle in my neck, out of alignment and my BF has the same. Any way I can get the Car insurance company billed?

They want me to sign the estimate papers but I don't plan on it. If I do I won't cash the check.

First off... do not cash or deposit the check that the insurance company gives you. Take the person who hit you to small claims court. bring 2 or 3 insurance estimates. The other persons insurance will represent them..but they will lose and the judge will grant you the lower of the 3 estimates. Only thing that sucks is that it will take a while.
In most cases you will not actually go to court because the insurance co. knows that they will lose so they will back down.

the insurance company writes up an estimate just like any body shop would. The body shops will usually honor the insurance companies estimate and fix it for that price. I have never seen a body shop turn down an insurance companies estimate yet. After the body shop gets the vehicle and starts teardown, they may find more damage. When this happens the body shop calls the insurance company and talks to them about the damage and an additional check is issued. They are not going to pay any more than what it would cost them to fix and right now this is the amount (without being able to see if there is more damage underneath) that it would cost to have it fixed.

Even if you would have gotten an estimate before the insurance company wrote one up, they still would have rewritten the estimate and sent you a check for the price on their estimate

you better just take what is offer to you instead of nickel and dime the insurance company. if insurance company find out you don't have your own insurance then they will not pay you anything because your not suppose to be on the road.

They are really nickle and diming you.

In fairness, they should pay the 1162.04 bid from a body shop. Your health insurance is paying your medical?
Why?
