the first time it was normal, but she says his head is above average. she is a great doctor, but what could be the reason his head is growing. it looks normal to me it's not big like he has hydrocephalus nobody else notices it but when she measures it at the doctor it just isn't normal. he was a preemie he has caught up on his weight and he acts like a normal baby. i am really not worried but just wondering what could they be looking for in the head ultrasound? i know the doctor is just being safe than sorry.when i was small everyone said that i had a big head so i believe big heads just run in the family, but he will grow into his head.

They were probably looking for hydrocephalus or a brain disorder. They did a scan on my son and found out he has hydrocephalus and schizencephaly.

Why are you asking us? Ask your pediatrician. She obviously has a reason for concern. You as the parent need to ask questions of your Doctor so you fully understand the reason for processes and what may potentially be at risk.

If you question your doctor it is alright to get a second opinion.
