It's very hard to convince a non-beliver of our father. But we still must try, and don't let them taint your heart. They are coming to this section for a reason, they are seeking the truth. We must offer it to them.

Is talking to people about Christianity like walking on thin ice?
If done with respect and true understanding, I don't see it as being a problem, however, if as some here have done, it is approached with condemnation, judgement and a blatant disregard for others beliefs, then yes it will be a problem.
Respect above all is what civility is about.

If you live you life as an example people will gravitate to you and ask you questions about the life you live. This is a great, positive way to talk about the Lord. E.g- Friend quit drinking and smoking when he found the Lord and people always want to hear about the Lord Salvation

If I understand your question correctly. Yes, it can be. I don't think we can please everyone and Christianity certainly doesn't do that. It has very definite values and beliefs that we can not compromise. The basics of our faith, for instance, the virgin birth, the life and death and Resurrection of Christ. These are things we can not alter and still claim to be Christian. And of course someone who is a Babe in Christ is sensitive to certain things and we need to tread carefully.

The Gospel is a wonderful thing to us. It is the good news that we are saved through Christ finished work on the cross. To those who refuse to stop sinning and reject GOD the Gospel is the message that you are going to spend eternity separated from GOD. In other words. In Hell.
Look at it from their standpoint. It is very offensive.
Shalom.

The best way to "talk" about Christianity is to model it. We have to walk the talk. Let our actions speak louder than words and model Christ for everyone.

That is true. As a Christian, we must realize that our job is only to spread the Gospel to those who will listen. We are not to force it upon anyone who does not want to hear it.
Mostly, we must understand that it is not our job to "close the sale" by begging them to accept salvation. It is God's job to finish what we start.

Sometimes it is that is why it is important to wait until someone approaches you and asked you a specific question. Then you should always find out first what is behind their question before answering.

Don't do it to please others. Do it to please the One.
Is pulling a drowning man out of the water like walking on this ice? Some of them will fight you and try to hurt you in ignorance and panic. Does this justify not helping?
