Some people are so stupid. Why would I offer that greeting and not mean it. Even to a complete stranger. Just trying to do something nice for the World.

What a simple yet interesting question!
I've never given any thought to it until this very moment. After saying it out loud, I realized that it does indeed sound so much brighter and happier than just the simple "Have a nice/good/great day."
So yes, it most certainly would. Thanks for asking, and I hope you have a FANTASTIC day. :-)

Yes it is a thought provoking question.
It wouldn't brighten my morning. But its not totally inconsequential.
If I knew you, even if we had only just met or exchanged pleasantries on the net, yes a little bit.
But I guess the real question is would the good gesture of a fellow answers person of saying have a fantastic day brighten my morning, when I happen to skip through and over the comment in a brief surf, brighten my day. It depends on your definition of brighten my morning-- would it make me fell a little better all morning - no. Would it add the tiniest bit of positivity- yes.
To someone that was extremely fragile it could be the tiniest calalyst added with other catalysts that prevent them from doing something stupid
In summary is has "an" effect, so keep it up

no it would not, because do you honestly care how a complete stranger is? What if my idea of a FANTASTIC day was to bind and gag someone and then do horrible things to them? Maybe I am being pessimistic, IDK I just don't like things like this that are automated. Things like God bless you, I'm sorry, how are you,....etc. I understand they are niceties, but come on.
