Outside of the control buttons or knobs on your monitor that let you adjust contrast, and brightness there is Display Properties on your computer. To get to it, Right click on a free space on your desktop. Choose the last item, Properties, and Display Properties will appear. Choose the last tab called, Settings, in there you can change the resolution, the higher (shaper) the smaller the icons and programs will be on the computer. It is listed under the section called Color Quality. You can also click on the Advanced button in the same area. It takes you to your graphic card properties.
