He would love it, but it is like getting him addicted to drugs.
Given the choice between flying and cocaine, take cocaine.
Its cheaper.
That being said, the years that I flew were some of my
best memories - I am guessing that cocaine addicts
would not say that.
And yes, if he is really into it, it is possible to get people
to pay you for your habit... but its a long uproad climb.

It depends on him. If you think is something he would like, or if you actually know he likes to fly (or would like to learn), then definitely go for it. But don’t buy anything yet, is better to just call, reserve it, and then just take him there as a surprise. If by any chance he doesn’t want to do it, you guys can cancel it without wasting the money.
Don’t forget that no matter how much a person likes to do something that can be dangerous, when the time comes, he could “chicken out” and don’t want to do it. You don’t want him to feel obligated to do something but he is actually scared to death either.
But if you really think is something he wants, it should be fine.
Good luck, and have a safe flight! (You are going with him too of course!!).

My grandson got one for his tenth birthday, but he had been playing flight simulator on the computer and knew a lot about flying before going up.
Is this some thing that he has talked about in the past. If it is then it is a good gift. But so that he could learn more about flying I would get him a flight simulator program for his computer too.
You know his interest so get him some thing that he would really like based on his interest.

Find your closest airport. For my 14th birthday, a couple weeks ago, my parents signed me up for the "discovery flight" at our local airport. The discovery flight is pretty much a one-time(40 MINUTE) plane lesson. Most of the discovery flights are taken in a c-152. The instructor usually lets the trainer (your boyfriend in this case) fly the plane while its in the air. The instructor sits in the co-pilots seat while the trainer sits in the pilot seat. Plus, there are 2 seats in the back (you can sit in the back if you want to come).......... And, once its done, you guys can either "just end it there" or "talk to the instructor about more lessons"........ Have fun!

I don't personally know your boyfriend so I'm not too sure if this is something he'd like. If you think he would, I think you should go for it!
