schools have to serve a class A lunch, which determines how much of each nutrient is served. the hot lunch has meat and vegetables, but there's usually at least one other main course offered. some bigger schools have salads and pizza and other foods offered. kids on free lunch are only allowed the hot lunch.

It depends on whether it's Elementary school or Junior High-High school. The elementary schools have kid-friendly foods like hot dogs, mini dogs, chicken nuggets, pizza. Sometimes salads and fruit, yogurt.
High schools have sandwiches, and more healthy type foods for kids.

When I was in highschool it was: pizza, tacos, burgers, turkey sandwiches, etc. and then they had sides and desserts. But I bought lunch maybe 3 times throughout my 4 years of highschool.
