I am getting annoyed by this windows update of mine, as this icon always pop-up with the details of: "Downloading updates: 33%". In fact there is nothing going on and for now I have no way to end task this update or even reset it. Any way to solve this situation?

Go to Control Panels> Administrative Tools> Services
Under the Automatic Updates... restart or stop it.

Try updating it manually. The server from which you are getting the updates may be facing networking problems.
Also check if your Windows is original. The WGA might be causing problems.

right click my computer click properties select auto update turn it off click apply now turn it back on and it will start the download over good luck
