The point is moot as far as the relationship goes (it's dead as disco), but my soon-to-be ex-girlfriend has to answer to your responses.

We're both jerks, based on what I'm about to tell you, but who is the bigger jerk?

Person One: steals from retailers to earn a living, and lies to person two about his/her whereabouts and activities when he/she is engaged in this illegal activity.

Person Two: has, over two years, read virtually every word of every journal and every letter and every email that PersonTwo has ever written, methodically and systematically going through thousands of pages of notebooks and computer files despite Person Two's strenuous objections ahead of time and during the invasion of privacy.

It should be noted that Person One claims that Person Two's behavior, which has been going on much longer, set the tone for his/her dishonesty.

Which jerk do you find more detestable, and by how wide a margin? Let's use a jerk scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the biggest jerk ever.

person one is a thief.. although not the greatest thing in the world.. i would without a doubt say person two is a more detestable jerk by a margin of 10. My reasoning behind that is.. sure person one is going behind your back and ripping some stuff off from walmart or whatever and not telling you.. big deal.. but invading someone's privacy and going through their every detail which they considered their personal very private effects, is dispicable.. you should never do that without their explicit permission.. I dont know from experience.. I would just sooner support a thief than a traitor.

I don't think it is a matter of who is a jerk or not. Suspicious activity will invoke suspicious activity. There is no good excuse for stealing or lying. If someone feels lied to they will naturally want to know what the person is lying about. This is a major trust issue in the relationship. One the person that is stealing and lying about where he/she has been is in the wrong. I wouldn’t even call this a relationship. When two people are in a "Real Relationship" they are up front and honest about everything. If you feel you have to lie to your partner then it's time to end it or tell the truth. If the person accepts you for who you are then there is a chance at a true relationship. The person going through the notebooks and computer files is probably curious. This is not very considerate of the person’s feelings or privacy in any way. If you are that concerned about hiding your private life, you should not have it lying around for others to help themselves, not to be mistaken for having something to hide. Two if you need to hide anything from your partner other than say gifts at Christmas Time or a surprise party, then you are not committed to a serious relationship. This is my personal opinion and in no way meant to be professional advice. I am not a professional. I will not be responsible for any misfortune occurred from this post. :)

I would say the person who read the journals is the biggest jerk 10 on my scale... That's a very personal thing and should never be touched without permission and the person who wrote it around to explain.. That person has no privacy at all anymore they feel totally violated. Mind you the shoplifter is not the greatest either but at least they were not intruding on someones entire life!
Honestly sounds like you both need some help..Good Luck

Person 2 has trust issues stemming from previous failed relationships that can be worked through in time with appropriate counseling and a loving, supportive partner. Person 1 is a thief who belongs in jail. The excuses Person 1 uses to keep from owning up to his/her responsibilities for his/her actions are moot as they are only excuses. If that is how Person 1 earns a living, then Person 2 can not be the cause.

Lying. If you didn't lie then the other wouldn't have to check up on you on the time. Personally, I wouldn't go through all the trouble of spying and all that. Too much work. Women know when their man is cheating. I would just cut that person out of my life. Btw, if you are the one that is doing the lying then why in the hell would you keep a record of everything that you are doing? Journals? Come on!
Clearly, there is no trust in this relationship and so you guys just need to split up.

On the lowest end of the scale is person two,who reads all the journals and what not, only because two is being deceitful to only person one. I give person two a 7.
On the flip side of that is person one, who is the biggest jerk of all with the perfect score of 10. He/She lies, cheats, steals no wonder person two feels the need to invade. Cause and Effect. You get what you give. What goes around comes around, pick one they all apply.See ya later ex-alligator.

Lying. With a lie someone INTENDS to deceive you/mislead you.

An invasion of privacy means they want to make sure you are being faithful (especially if you've been unfaithful before), and or are on the same level as them as to feelings. It could also mean that they see you as being to secretive or not open enough so they feel they have to find out info for themselves.

Who's the bigger jerk? The lier. scale of 1-10 .....10

The invader in spite of warnings to stay out......5

No, in case you position it that way, i does no longer. on the different hand, the first and established responsibility of a determine is to guard the newborn. you are able to trust me after I allow you to do not forget that i might want to pass to the ends of the earth (which incorporates invading their privateness) if there change into a demonstration that intervention change into warranted. it really is a tricky question, yet what we do understand (between some different issues) is that youthful children (regularly as a lot as about the age of 20) do no longer have a very stepped ahead mind that shall we them competently choose the outcomes of any supply action--mutually with "attempting" drugs, tobacco, or using booze responsibly. some, for sure, not in any respect do advance the potential yet this is regularly a count number of educating and training.
