* Don't kid yourself. Fundamentalists pick and choose what they like and don't like in the bible also.don't believe me? Just ask them if baptism is necessary for salvation and they will sayno, but that is not what the bible says. They will pick and choose scripture they feel proves their point and out and out deny trhe scripture like Mark 16;16.*

What do you mean by "pick and choose" what we want to believe?
Are you referring to the laws of Judism? "Christians don't have to follow these laws because we aren't Jewish. The term "Christian" sets us apart from the Jews. We follow the laws of Moses as in the 10 commandments and try our best to follow Christ's teachings, but we don't have to follow cultural laws of the Jews.
I don't know why this would be hard to understand. Back in the day, you were either a Jew or a Gentile. Christians are Gentiles....
As far as Christians having a hard time following the 10 commandments and etc., we are all human and sin against God everyday, every waking moment. This doesn't make us any less of a Christian. I'm sure even you have done something against the laws of the land, but are able to try and justify it. We all do these thngs.

No. Everyone picks and chooses what to believe, and fundamentalists leave plenty of things behind that they don't like or wish weren't there.

I don't think so. Fundamentalists seem to swallow wholesale a menu of beliefs without question. "Buffet" Christians, as you call them, at least have the intellectual honesty to question whether some of the things they're told might not be true.

"Christians" who pick and choose what parts of the Bible to believe in are fooling themselves. They are trying to make the faith fit their lifestyle. Although, the Christians whom are labeled "fundamentalists" because they take the Bible as a whole, are still not perfect. They are still humans trying to live up to a standard set forth in the Bible. They are going to fail a lot of times. It is not for the rest of the world to judge them, but for God to judge them.

Any fanatic poses a danger because they refuse to accept important questions about the origin of their faith and the fact that their religion clouds common sense, leading to abuse, violence, oppression and even murder. It's the same for Islamic fundamentalists as it is for fire and brimstone bible thumpers.

I'm not a 'christian' but I am all for taking a little from here a bit from there... kind of like a chef picking spices for the stew. Weeding the unnecessary elements out.

I believe fundies lack discernment. They are the type that spend hours studying "do not kill" when it's not even an issue for them, while avoiding some of verses that are.

I'll bet they say that to themselves.
However, since I have *YET* to meet a Christian
who didn't pick and choose to some degree or
another (including the Amish), I think its disingenuous.
