I have been investigating the Mormon church on and off for the past few months, anyways, I had told one of my Christian friends that I liked the Church and he told me that Mormons do not accept Jesus as a God and as such they are not going to Heaven.

I think they would because they accept Jesus as their Savior, but he told me you have to believe he is also God.. What do you think?

Here is direct quote from Gorden B Hickley (MistyAnn didn't finish the quote because the rest would not give the answer she wants.)

"We are Christians in a very real sense and that is coming to be more and more widely recognized. Once upon a time people everywhere said we are not Christians. They have come to recognize that we are, and that we have a very vital and dynamic religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ."

"We, of course, accept Jesus Christ as our Leader, our King, our Savior...the dominant figure in the history of the world, the only perfect Man who ever walked the earth, the living Son of the living God. He is our Savior and our Redeemer through whose atoning sacrifice has come the opportunity of eternal life."

"Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints pray and worship in the name of Jesus Christ. He is the center of our faith and the head of our Church. The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ and witnesses of His divinity, His life, and His Atonement."

Here is also a quote from M. Russell Ballard an aposle.
"There are many who say that Latter-day Saints believe in a 'different Jesus' than do other Christians and that we are therefore not 'Christian.' . . . We believe in the Jesus of the New Testament, and we believe what the New Testament teaches about Him. We do believe things about Jesus that other Christians do not believe, but that is because we know, through revelation, things about Jesus that others do not know. . . .

"What we want most of all is for Christian and non-Christian alike to understand that we love the Lord Jesus Christ. We revere His name. We count it a great honor and privilege to take upon ourselves the name of Christ as Christians and as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."

well Jesus said it clearly when He spoke the words, I am the way, the truth ansd the life. No man comes to the Father but by me. If you don't receive and accept Christ, there's no way you can make it in. Look at this analogy in the Old Testament, the tabernacle was created, and to get to the Holies of Holies(where God is) you had to start by coming into the the East Gate. So when Christ come and in John 10, he told them that I am the door. He was the door on the gate that allowed them to enter the tabernacle. He is still the door to Father. Bt let's let God be the one to determine who is going t hell or not. That's what is going to happen at the judgements. Christians are in trouble to, so...let's not just send a certain group of people to hell, let God do it, but tell them that have to receive Christ to inherit eternal life, point blank.

I hate saying this about anybody, but unless they accept Jesus Chirst, yes. I mean the Jesus Christ of the Bible, not the other "Jesus" Mormons believe in.
Gordan B. Hinckley said, As a Church we have critics, many of them. They say we do not believe in the traditional Christ of Christianity. There is some substance to what they say.

I was looking into becoming "Mormon" also so one day the missionaries said to read James 1:5 in the bible "if any of you lack wisdom let him ask of god" so I read that and prayed with with true attentions and I got my answer. If you truly want the truth don't ask on here people have so much stuff negative to say because satin is trying to miss lead everyone. Ask god and he will let you know the truth. I have been Mormon now for a year I had everyone saying things about my religion even my family this church is true and you shouldn't Listen to other people. Pray fully study & Read the book of mormon and you will know.

You have to accept the Messiah YAHOSHUA for who He is, and have Him as the controlling part of your life in order to receive eternal life. Most of Churchianity does not qualify, and I don't believe Mormonism does. Some individuals within the above mentioned heathen religions might be accepting the Messiah as best they can, so they MIGHT be saved even though they were a part of a religion that teaches error. YHVH will judge, and everyone will agree that He did the most generous thing that could be done!

That's rediculous. To believe that Jesus is God, the Father, is just one interpretation of the Bible. Not all Christian faiths believe this. The doctrine of the Trinity wasn't even doctrine until about 325 A.D. That being said, we should all respect each other regardless of what we believe. Religion is faith based and individual. As long as the individual educates themselves and looks to God for confirmation, I support that person. Good luck.

God does answer prayers.

Your friends are talking about what they don't know. For Latter Day Saints (Mormons), Jesus is God, as well as their Lord and Saviour.

Amazingly, Mormonism is more coherent with the Bible than what is preached by other Christian groups. Of course other groups of Christians will disagree. If you continue visiting the Mormon church, you will see that I am not wrong.

Mormons do believe that Jesus is God. Talk to the local Bishop or Branch President instead of your friend, because your friend
does not know the answers you seek.
