Does anyone know where I can find pre-bankruptcy credit counseling services at little or no charge? Also, I have had a lien placed against my bank account. The creditor is not willing to negotiate. Is there any way I can get this lifted?

This doesn't really answer your questions, but is a tip I thought might be helpful for you. If you plan to change jobs anytime in the next seven to ten years, keep in mind potential employers can run a credit check on you. It appears that more and more employers are doing this. Filing bankruptcy may prevent you from getting a different/better job in the future.
