No, it is absolutely not wrong. I believe it is very noble to be interested in learning about other beliefs and ways of life. You're husband sounds as if he is not very trusting and, dare i say it, perhaps a little racist (no insult intended). I think you would be right to learn more about you're Muslim friends, if it interests you. You're husband is just going to have to accept the fact that you are interested in other beliefs and not actually interested in taking up any other beliefs.

I don think think that it is wrong to learn about other religions. If you are not going to convert from Christianity- remember that there is only one true God. Also if you know more about Islam, or other religions you can have more information to share the good news with them, and the differences in the religions. I have a couple of friends who are scientologists and I do not know much about that "religion" so I need to do some research so I can witness to them better and more intelligently. Just remember that Christ is the only way to heaven, and you will be fine.

Religions are not wrong to study. Islam is not bad. I am not muslim. So i am not biased. The only thing wrong is that, when one person or a group of people commit wrong like a terrorist act,the whole religion is blamed. The religious bookj for Islam is not evil. The only problem is that the extremists have taken the book word for word......in the holy bible and islam bible, the hindu bible, sikh bible...they have all good meanings in them, they have deeper meanings, some people do not understand it.

No, not at all - you were right, it's brilliant to be able to share knowlege and to learn about other peoples' religions, especially considering the multi-cultural world we live in today, it is basically essential to understand other peoples' beliefs in order to respect them.
Tell your husband that what he did was WRONG - because it really, really was - and that you won't stand for it. Make him either get the books back out of the trash or replace them, and tell him that you're not planning to convert but that you value wisdom and knowlege. If he acts like this again, it may be time to assess the situation - he is behaving in a truly awful manner!

No you're not wrong as to wanting to know the background of the muslim religion. Maybe you should tell your hubby, thta you love God and no you don't want to convert over, but wouldn't it be kind of nice to know how we can relate to muslims, and can share what we believe with each other. Because our God is alive, nobody else god is. So not just to shove religion, but kinda like a compare/contrast. But I understand, I'm not one who is so religious that I can deal with people where they are.

No you are not wrong for wanting to learn about something you don't know about however you are wrong for letting your husband getting rid of your books.
Some people fear what they don't understand
Knowledge is a very powerful thing
Maybe he didn't want you to learn something new because then you might open you mind to question things
If my man got rid of my books, he would have to follow the books
Sorry I would not stand for that
Love & Blessings

I don't think it is wrong to learn about the faith of others, as long as you are secure in your own. Your husband probably just wants to protect you from a religion that is different then what he believes. It is not hard to find things on the net.

Educating yourself is never wrong. I had a helluva time trying to explain why I was reading Mein Kampf to my parents when I was 17 years old. I wanted to know WHY and HOW Hitler had the German people wrapped around his little finger. BTW, that was one of the most boring books I ever read, but it sure cleared up some questions I had.

It is never wrong to expand your fund of knowledge and learning about the teachings of other religions in no way interferes with your own faith. In fact, it helps you understand your own faith better and therfor can only make it stronger for you if it is right for you.
