I have a bad case of anemia and know from experience that going out in the cold is extremely painful it makes all your joints and bones ache so bad to the point where they do not want to move or it hurts to bad to move. Plus you get so chilled that you shake uncontrollably. So don't be to hard on him just yet make sure he is not lying of course but give him the benefit of the doubt also.

I'm borderline anemic and I know that symptons of anemia are being abnornally cold and tired. It could just be an excuse but it could be that it is harder on him, more painful, and he may not be able to get cold. It could be an exaggerated excuse but I would read more on the internet to learn about the condition and then decide what his intentions are. I know that I avoid going out in the cold because it is painful. Maybe just curl up at his home with some wine and watch a movie instead of going out?

Hey, anemia is not funny, my friend had that disease, still has it but....whatever, we were playing soccer, runs 15 seconds and rests for 20 minutes... Its hard to walk a long time in the cold for an anemiac because in the cold your muscles have to work to make heat, same reason when youre out in the cold your mouth starts to clap. I dont think its a bad excuse.

This is understandable because anyone with anemia gets cold so easy. Their iron level is low and they just freeze without getting out in the cold.

people with anemia tend to run cold even in a warm place so being out in the weather just makes it worse

well i think anemia is low blood count. so not having enough blood could make someone very ill if they went into the cold. i personally, think it's a crock of shi*.
