If your Green Card is still valid, you can apply for permission to return to an unrelinquished domicile. Basically, you will have to prove that you did not abandon your permanent residency in the United States, such as you were assigned by your company to a foreign office, you maintained a home in the US, your immediate family stayed in the US while you were gone, and/or you continued to file yearly income taxes in the US while you were out of country.

If you are unable to prove that you did not abandon your permanent residency, then you will need to start the immigration process all over again.

Your Green Card is no good. You abandoned your immigrant status after being out of the US for one year. There is no way to "renew" it or make it good again. If you want another Green Card you'll need to start your immigration process all over again.

Is your green card expired? If so, contact the local US consulate. They have a link, or phone number, that you can use to fill out the proper paperwork to have your I-551 renewed.

If not, you can enter the US.
