* they are arragant because they feel they have the truth and we are going to hell. They like to claim their arragance is confidence which most of your answers say this. They wonder why we think they should live better lives than us when we don't, see yummy's answer it is because the bible says they MUST BE BLAMELESS. They do not want to be blameless, they want to be saved sinners with no personal responsibility.

Christians. If you claim to be Christian especially if you preach to us and tell us we need to listen to you or go to hell, then be sure we will expect you to live a better life than us because YOUR HOLY BOOK SAYS YOU MUST. CHECK IT OUT.*

I think the arrogance comes from not truly believing. The true Christians I know are not arrogant at all. The bigots who use religion as an excuse for their hatred are the loud, arrogant ones.

I guess if it sounds that way to you, then that is how we must be coming across. I think if a person is sure of their feelings and ideas it does come across this way. I see it also in many others on this site who have certain views. We are speaking about things that are near and dear to our hearts so much passion is involved in the answers at times. Regardless of that, God loves us all.

You are guilty of overgeneralization. I have met many Christians who are thoughtful and polite in discourse as well as a few who are indeed arrogant and ignorant.

How would you like them to respond? If they write a long answer it might be more polite or have a nice quiet meek mild tone, but then people are less likely to read it or might consider it patronizing, if they make their answers short this means their answer is more likely to be read, but means they have to explain their answer briefly and to the point.

Why do you say this? I am not arrogant and neither are any Christians I know but one. And he is working on that. That is between him and God. Why does everyone expect Christians to be perfect when you yourselves are not?

We aren't trying to be arrogant, or at least I'm not. I don't try to be, but I will defend my beliefs and will correct someone if they've heard something untrue about my religion.

are they in a separate catagory exclusive to themselves or is it likely that any group could fall into that "arrogant" catagory?
