First off, you're going to need to buy a very small rod curling iron. Get as small as you can find. When you are ready to style it, preferrably let your hair go a day without the shower because the oils in your hair will help the style hold.
First spritz hairspray even before you style. Heat your curling iron. Starting at the root of your hair, take small chunks of hair (depending on how thick you want the ringlets) and wrap them around the curling iron. Give it a bit to hold and if you'd like, spray hairspray on it while it's curling. Because your hair is so long you will need to do this several times going down the strand.
Depending on the thickness of your hair expect this to take at least an hour!

Try using hair wax, I steal my brothers all the time to do this. Put it on the bits of hair you want, and shape them how you want them to look, they'll dry like that, and stay that way till you wash them.

you can use a curling iron or, pin curls, you take a strand of wet hair wrap it around your finger then force it off your finger and pin it with a couple of bobby pins.
