You make some very good points. Yes another big lie is Russia was a communist country, when it was actually Nazi, that Stalin was atheist, when he was Russian christian(orthodox), and a big one is we never went to the moon, and that 9/11 was done by Muslims. All those nasty things are spread by christians, that love to say non christians are liars, yet when caught with their hands in the cookie jar they squirm. Oh and the posters below, are using the not a true christian line. *laughs*

It is true that many self-described "Christians" have dishonored the Christ. They aren't true Christians.

Similar "questions" have been "asked" dozens of times here already. Here are a few Scriptural thoughts to consider:

(Romans 16:17) Keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them.

(2 Corinthians 4:4-6) The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

(Philippians 2:14-15) In among a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you are shining as illuminators in the world

(1 Timothy 6:3-5) If any man teaches other doctrine and does not assent to healthful words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, nor to the teaching that accords with godly devotion, he is puffed up with pride, not understanding anything, but being mentally diseased over questionings and debates about words. From these things spring envy, strife, abusive speeches, wicked suspicions, violent disputes about trifles on the part of men corrupted in mind and despoiled of the truth

Boy, someone needs to go back to school.

America was "colonized" by good Christian people. Founded by the Native Americans, yes, but the culture we have come to know it as was brought forth from Christians from England. Or did you think the pilgrams and Virginia were first settled by escaping witches? Nope, All christians.

Jehovah (or God) is good. Satan is bad. Let me guess, you think Jeffery Dahmer was misunderstood too.

Calling Hitler a christian is a lie. He was born in the religion, but it's obvious he wasn't a christian. It's like calling some of these atheists christian because they were born in christian homes. They ain't now, so what's the difference.

We don't worship Satan, we hate him. You are misguided and know nothing about Christians. I think you should learn a little bit before you accuse anyone of things you know nothing about.

Everyone lies. Every movement; every order. It is the tale of the three blind men and the elephant, in some cases; in other cases, it is perhaps conscious. I'm a Christian, and I think you would probably classify me as "faithful." That said, I do remember that the Bible is the word of God -- as told through men.

You are correct, however: regardless of how many times or how fervently others insist that America was "founded as a Christian nation," that is incorrect. Our founding fathers deliberately wanted to avoid a theocracy, and stressed the separation of church and state.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Gullible's Travels, your avarter really creeps me out. Is that one of those kids from Jesus Camp?

I don't believe in god or Satan and you're distorting the text somewhat. I think the Truth that is being referred to is about the saviour and salvation. It's just another christian guilt-renderer. It is a far-right concept and basically means that for those that aren't gullible to the teachings of the bible, then they must be evil. Blind faith kind of stuff, with no solid foundation.

Evil doesn't like anything, neither does good. Good and evil are judgements, not beings. It is as nonsensical as saying "Big loves ice cream."

Truth can be pleasant or unpleasant. Truth doesn't depend on whether you like it or not.

It is true that the winners write the history books. Everybody distorts history to their advantage. However, I agree that religions tend to do it more blatently. They've already trained people to unquestioningly believe that gods and devils exist. So, it's not much of a leap for them to make other unfounded claims.

All religions lie or change the history about the book or god to suit their needs. anyway about the devil, we'll all meet him in one way or another, for a short time or a long time.

As for Hitler, he was born and raised as a christian.

The United States was founded as a Christian nation although secular. Read what the founders wrote. Hitler was a Christian, at least, in his own mind.
