I've read about it and I've seen them on movies, people would usually convulse for a few minutes before dying. In the hospitals, they call it the 'last suffering', and the greatest one. When you're about to die, they say you experience a painful convulsion. If this is true, what must i do so that i won't feel the pain?

I was present when my mother passed away and she did not convulse. Her last minute on this earth she gasped for air and then it was over. Hospice called it fish out of water breathing.

I'm a nurse and no this is not true. When a person dies they usually have breathing difficulties. This is like a deep breath then nothing, another breath then nothing, that cycle. Also the last thing to go is the persons hearing so talk to them until they are gone. This is difficult to see anyone die, but if you ever witness it, talk to them about whatever you need to say before they expire. I'm a Christian and only God truly knows how you will die, but I can tell you this, most people are not in pain. They have told me that they feel a numbness that starts from their feet and go up their body. Please don't worry yourself about this now. The media has to really sell their movie and it really don't happen that way at all. Take care and try hard not to worry. I know this information is a bit alarming but I hope you have your questions answered.

Some people may have a convulsion before dying but not every one, as for being painful I do not know.

My mother was with her sister when she died, my Aunts last breaths became weaker and slower, until she just stopped breathing. Mum said she looked peaceful and looked as if she was not in pain.
