Sounds like one of my cats...food allergies or fleas.

The first few times it's happened have been because of food allergies. The cat had to get a cortisone shot first. Then I had to feed her from all-glass bowls. Then I found one brand of sensitive skin cat food she can tolerate. Only that one brand works for her.

Every time she eats something she shouldn't (including another brand of sensitive skin cat food), it's back to the vet for another shot because she's losing her hair again.

The last time it happened, it wasn't food allergies - it was fleas. She needed a shot then too.

No matter which it is - the first step is a trip to the veterinarian.

I use to breed. It sounds like a skin infection and the vet will have to treat the boxer. Sure the boxer can be treated and go back to having the shiny coat you love. It shouldn't cost that much for the vet to write/give you a prescription for this. I hope this helps you. Please don't self treat, you are unaware if the boxer is in pain due to the boils. Take care

Wow I would definitely take him to the vet right away because that sounds like sarcoptic mange to me and he will just get worse without vet attention.

Take him to a vet, and see what is causing this.
