not always. I believe there a time to hold em and fold em. No one should ever be an open book, because the more information people have about you,the more power they have to hurt you with. Not all people are vindictive but I have learnt to only let a select few see my vulnerabilities.

The flip side to this is I'm sure I have missed out on some possibly good friendships due to this, as people tend to think I'm not interested in them because I keep things to myself. So be yourself but don't let just anyone know your weaknesses

Serenity and peace of mind, yes, but it will also create a few problems in your life by how other people see you and how you act.
It is never wise to fully reveal your vulnerabilities, anyone can exploit them for their own purposes, and everyone has secrets they would rather not let anyone else know for as long as you live.

You don't have to become vulnerable to allow others to see the true you. You only need to be aware of what it is you will show.

Yes. I am with you. You have just unmasked your false identity. The sense of vulnerability is the result of your ego fighting back trying to bring back the false you for what? To be competent, to be loved, to be appreciated, to be their idol. Your true you is that image we all have in common from one creator. Everything you need is in that true you: peace, love and compassion.

That would depend on who or what the true you is. And I would not open my 'true' self to everyone---just friends or family who you trust.

There are things to be disclosed and there are things that are not.
