As an entire armed force, the U.S., hands down, partially for the sheer amount of resources. We spend more money on training than any other country, and have more trained personnel than any other country. Possible exception to this is the Chinese Army, but that's simply conjecture, because we have practically no hard intel in that area.
Staying in the realm of regular forces, the U.S. Marine Corps is high on the list, probably top three, but I'd have to give the top spot to the Israeli Army.
In the area of special forces, that's not a question that can really be answered, because all special forces have their own special tasks. In their area of expertise (naval based operations & demolitions), SEALs are supreme. Anywhere it's cold & wet, the SEALs will have the upper hand. But in a desert environment, their training is not as elite. So, the answer really depends on the arena of operations.

Israel’s soldiers are the best trained in ground tactics, however their army is small compared to other world powers without its reserved troops. Israel’s troops have even trained the US ground forces, and fought many wars against its neighbors. When it comes to teamwork, battle spirit, and trying to resist being outnumbered, Israel is the best. I also agree that Britain has a good army and like Israel, it’d be people-wise. However Britain’s 100% UK-made warfare technology is so last decade, unless your talking about their navy. The US warfare technology seems like the best in the world. They also have the most advanced and nearly the best trained naval corps in the world. US active marines were piled training programs in the past few years. The FBI-created hit & run tactics weaponry combined with the expertise of the Marine Corps in urban warfare during the wars of terrorism has really paid off. The reason why America has lost previous wars was because it had no money to provide good training programs for its men since WW2. It only had recently paid of nearly all expenses form WWI. So the truth is, it actually doesn’t have much money. when it comes to battle spirit, its either Israel or the Koreas, though especially North Korea. ‘Cause When Kim Jung Un is all fired up, so is its 1 million man army, and in direct war situations, so does another batch of 8 million men. However the only best defense it has is its nuclear weapons, which it might use or not… that’s up to the commies.

The British Armed Forces are, without a shadow of a doubt, the best trained in the World.
All the money and gear in the Universe does not necessarily make a well trained military force-and well trained goes beyond discipline alone.

Well since the question is which country has the best trained military in the world it is without doubt the British. However due to spending cuts theyre not very well equiped and they have a nowhere near the technology or the numbers of the USA.

The British military used to be well trained but now this 'be politically-correct and go easy on the recruits because theyre a different generation and we dont want them getting stressed out even though were training them to fight and win a war' attitude has taken over standards have slid.
The US military places far, far too much reliance on technology and keeping soldiers comfortable in the combat zone. If you place so much emphasis on comfort does that mean the soldiers wont fight if they cant be comfortable, because they will always be someone who will fight in uncomfortable conditions. A little more training in distinguishing between friendly and enemy forces wouldnt go amiss either!!
The German Bundeswehr are well trained and good soldiers, but are hampered by an ethnic German trait of not wanting to take final responsibility for anything
The Israeli armed forces are well trained and well motivated soldiers but tend to be a little bit trigger happy.
The Chinese military are well trained and can tolerate almost any conditions but tend to be poorly led
The Russian armed forces are well trained and can endure any conditions but these days tend to be hampered by budget problems!
The Swiss military are well trained but have no combat experienced men to draw on
No other armed forces stand out

If you're talking quality, not quantity, which I think you are, then it's the UK, no question.
It's not just the SAS, Paras, SBS, RAF Regiment, Royal Marines, etc, but even the "crap-hats" receive the best basic military training, and they have the best record of doing the business when they're up against it.
To be sure, other countries have good units. The French Foreign Legion, the SEALs, and a few others spring to mind, but taken in its entirety the UK armed forces are the best.

The British Armed Forces. The British Army is the best trained army on earth. Regiments include, The Parachute Regiment ( part of the Special Forces Support Group ), The Guards Regiment ( including, Scots, Irish, Welsh, Coldstream and Grenedier. Highly trained soldiers with immense disciplin. You have seen them outside Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London standing perfectly still. ) The SAS ( the most dangerous, effective and superior army regiment on earth. Make the entire US army look like toy soldiers. Then the Gurkas. OK, about these guys............unbelievable about sums them up.
The Royal Navy is the worlds best trained navy due to its long history. It is also the last major navy to participate in a ship to ship battle. No US soldier has done that since WW2. Units include the Royal Marines and Im sorry America but your bog standard basic marines unit is nothing compared to the elite specialised force known as the Royal Marines. ( Also part of the Special Forces Support Group )The SBS. Ok US Navy Seals seem to get a good standing on these message boards but as with Royal Marines and USMC there is no comparrison. The SBS are many times more better trained than the Seals. The force is very small but very effective. The worlds best at marine warfare.
The Royal Air Force. Small and deemed pretty uneccessary it still includes some of the worlds best fighter pilots. They may not be the best but with the world best ground support and airfield capture troops it is arguably in the top 3. The RAF Regiment are the world best Airforce soldiers. They are also part of the Special Forces Support Group. Also the RAF has the most successful air to air combat record on earth. The battle of Britain was against the best airfoce on earth at the time and since no body has fought a battle anywhere near the scale. The US fights againsts planes that would struggle against a Bi-plane.
To conclude, the US has all the cash but when a toilent seat costs $10000 you can see why. Everything is stupidly overpriced in the US army so the money is not a true reflection. The training is poor compared to the training of others. The UK, Germany, France Isreal, Australians, Canadians and Kiwis are all better trained than the US. They are less equiped so therefore they train there soldiers to cope. The US thinks, well we have loads of stuff so lets only do a half ar$ed job with the training. Technology rules. Only thing is, soldiers win wars not machines.

Golden S ... My first thought was to say the USA. Yes, this is my answer.
However, if you asked which is the most obedient military, the answers may be very different.
1 - You've got the crowd that actually TRIES to kill themselves because they think they're going to be rewarded for doing so.
2 - You have Japan's Kamikaze pilots of World War II.
3 - You've also got the air defense forces of the former Soviet Union. They were so paranoid and fearful of being infiltrated/attacked, whenever any aircraft strayed into restricted air space, they'd shoot it down whether it was a civilian aircraft or not ... and even if it was one of their own. Apparently they felt that a potential enemy might perpetrate a successful attack on their capital by using a civilian aircraft that looked like one of theirs.

I agree with pinkie this is the same question over and over again. Most of the forces mentioned are highly trained except the Swiss Guard?.The French are wasting money on training as their main tactics seem to be either to surrender or change sides.

I can't say that the US are very good at all. Just look at the news in the uK at the moment. it is all about US forces killing their allies in friendly fire. To me that is not very good training.
