Hmmmm...as you obviously have a computer and are a literate person who is aware of all those starving people, and do nothing about it yourself, then you might be responsible for it. Look in a mirror before you point any type of accusational finger.

Clement you are a fool at best and definitely a Democrat. Understand this you little wimp *** fool. I am really tired of being accused of everything negative in the world by blowhearts like you. I have never ever hurt anyone in my life let alone starve a person or a group of people. I venture to say that I am not alone with the above statement as this country is filled with caring and giving people. The United States is the biggest benefactor the world has ever known but fools like you don't realize that fact. Wake up you moron because as an American we are all part of the giving society that you think doesn't exist.

Yes, I am also responsible for the starvation of people across the globe.I or no one can blame others for this problem. This problem is because of the lack of human resource of a country. In developing countries like India and China the population is increasing because of less education.Because of this the basic necessity of life cannot reach all of the people. And corruption is also responsible for this.
So we can reduce this problem by educating the people the benefits of having small families.

No I am not responsible for that.why am I ?
if people are starving that means they don't have money to buy some and thats probably their incom is less then their requirement.the reasons can be unemployment and increasing population plus lack of education.
I can participate in national economy by paying my taxes and giving growth to the organisation I am working for so that it can further add to national economy.I am doing this fairly well.I am putting my money in Banks rather in private lockers so that it can be used for public interest.
if am fulfilling my responsibilities as a citizen of india. Are you all out ther doing that?

I'm no more responsible for them starving than I am for them being born. I don't have the right to tell them not to reproduce if they can't support themselves and you don't have the right to blame me for their hunger.
I can send every penny I make for the rest of my life and there will still be starving people in the world. I can show compassion, love and generosity and there will still be starving people in the world.
There are thousands of hate crimes, rapes and murders every day, are you responsible for this?

At that rate, let's see: 6 billion people and 850 million dead of starvation each day...The whole human population should be dead in 7 or 8 days by that reckoning. Do you have the foggiest idea what you are talking about? From what clown did you get your crazy numbers?

As an individual, no. I am not responsible for any number of people starving anywhere on the planet. As far as proof goes, My taxes are on public record. A portion of that goes to aid people in other countries, as well as people in need here. As Americans, we vote to put people in a position to guide those funds to their proper place. I also buy products from other countries, and that also should go to improving the state of those countries.
This question is too general though.

Don’t mind what people are saying here. They will always find some excuse not to bother with the problems of the world. Instead they prefer to forget it, imagining they don’t know how bad the world really is. Anyone who claims who is not responsible for one’s death is a liar. We watch the news with children with swollen bellies, thin bones and skin, with some flies on their skin (no matter how seldom it appears in the news), then we drink a cup of coffee and complain about our own ‘problems’, our low wages or a loss of love.
Profoundly I must admit that I am a liar too, a hypocrite. I have donated to charities and I am planning to donate in the future, but it isn’t enough. When someone’s life is at stake, one should act with all he has and that is where we all fail.
I find the mere thought “I can’t save the world on my own” as selfish and egocentric as “the government or the rich need to take the first steps”. People will always find excuses to cover up their disabilities to the most.
By the way, Mad Roy: ‘To starve’ does not necessarily mean to ‘die of starvation’; look it up in a dictionary.
cvq3842 said: “America provides a large amount of food and aid to the world.”
Why don’t you show us some proof. If the American government gave 1% of its total revenue from taxes it would be much. All Bush can do is send people to Iraq. He doesn’t even bother about the global warming effect, even though governor Schwarzenegger several times pointed to it.
cvq3842 said: “Often, the aid we give is stolen and misapplied by corrupt governments.”
That’s a reason to donate even more, if money and goods get lost because of corrupt governments, we should act and instead donate even more, regarding that a certain percent of it gets lost. Donating money to charities may also rout out corruption.
thrythisagain said: “I've been trying to support these 850 million starving people on my meager income, but it's been tough. Could you help me out a little?”
You could at least have supported some. A life is a life; even if you save one life, it makes a tremendous difference. Life is the most valuable gift.
wuttwutt said: “I am not responsible. I did not put these people where they are, and I have not withheld food or drink from them.”
Not donating to charities is practically the same as letting them die in front of your eyes.
wuttwutt said: “They can leave where they are, or they can sit and cry.”
Do you think they can leave? I once saw a documentary where Africans tried to get away with a self-made boat. The boat sunk and half of them drowned. Right after some were reattempting to get across the Mediterrean sea, no matter what the risk was. If they get along and come in my country, they must wait 7 years to get official papers and be allowed to work. Most of them even can’t get across the border.
wuttwutt said: “I choose NOT to help someone that refuses to help themselves.”
That is a lame excuse. People cannot help themselves. Millions of children die of easily preventable diseases (by vaccination). People need to hunt for food and drink water out of rivers – if there is even water, this way they get infections and die of diseases. I suggest you read this article:

We all share this responsibility, but what do you plan to do to change these statistics? Yesterday, I gave a hat & a pair of jeans to a homeless man. Everyday, that I see him outside of the store that I frequent, I acknowledge him & give him my loose change. I know that I am not making him rich, but it is my hopes that he will become empowered enough to become self-sufficient, so that he can overcome his impoverished conditions. & maybe, he will remember to help someone as I helped him. It's a circle of love & I hope it embraces the globe!!

I heard on the radio that giving food aid to starving counttries may actually undermine the local economies, which are based largely upon the acgricultural industry. Why would anyone buy food from thier local farmers if it could be given to them for free?
