How "effective" is bulimia in comparison to anorexia? Does a bulimic throw up most of the contents of their stomach or does a certain amount of substance still remain? How much of of one's stomached substance can be thrown up at one time with applied efforts?

***I am not bulimic people, don't worry. lol, just doing some research. Chill.

on average, bulimics tend to throw up about half the calories they consume during a binge. straight anorexia definitely makes the weight come off faster

Depends on what you mean by effective- both are very different illnesses and people don't really get a choice of which one they suffer from! If you mean weight loss alone, then anorexia would be more "effective"- bulimics binge so their weight tends to fluctuate more and some bulimics may experience no net weight loss at all. Both illnesses have very different consequences and you may want to compare these too- for example anorexia causes muscle wasting and bulimia decays tooth enamel and affects the stomach muscles more.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "effective". In terms of throwing up, it really depends on how much the bulimic throws up. But definitely, the esophagus will be hurt and damaged with repeated vomiting.

I imagine bulimia is far worse for your body, because of the acidic bile flowing through your throat which can cause tissue damage to your esophagus and erode your teeth. Some bulimics also use laxatives on top of vomiting, and that causes dehydration as well.
