Ollie, it could be anything that might bring light to her eyes! It really depends on the girl. If you know what she is into especially or what she wanted in the past, that is your best bet.

It's a little difficult to answer this question without knowing how old she is, what the occasion is, and what your relationship with her is.... You say girl (not woman or lady) so I'm assuming she is young, but that still leaves a big gap in age.
Here are some general suggestions: Flowers, jewelry, stuffed animals, candy, perfume.
Girls of all ages just like to receive gifts. They are usually just touched by the fact that you thought about them, and cared enough to buy them something. I'm sure she'll love whatever you decide to give her.

There is a definite mathematical progression when buying girls gifts. Studies have shown that for the first few months buy something expensive but worthless. Dinner for example. Flashy gifts with little or no intrinsic value are the way to go until the relationship deepens.

It depends on the importance of the gift. If it is special as in Birthday, anniversary etc then a personal item is good, perfume, jewellry, an item of clothing or shoes she has shown an interest in. If it is just to show you care the flowers never go wrong.

you could choose from the old fashion( flower, teddy bear or any other stuff toy all the things that will make her remember you) but if you want to give her stuff toy maybe you should have a pair ( so you could think of each other when you look at it)
