When I was married (divorced now 4 yrs.), and if I awoke in the wee hours I returned to sleep fine. Or now that I'm single and if I've met a man and after awhile the the relationship has moved to us sleeping together and if I awaken in the wee hours, I feel peaceful, snuggle in closer and drift back to sleep fine.

I'm not in a relationship now as, while I adore and value men, there is no one I've met that I choose to continue dating...so I'm currently single.

So...now, if I awaken in the wee hours I find it hard to return to sleep very soon. Any suggestions for returning to sleep peacefully when single and sleeping alone ?

And...please no crude answers such as " find a guy " or simular answers. Seeking helpful answers only.

" Dynamite ". . . appreciate you answer...yet, since I moved this past summer I made personal choice to not have a t.v. and have not watched one for several months and enjoy that. So, not an option for me in the wee hours of morning. I do read...sometimes...yet, does not seem to help.

.
Maybe I should switch back to having a t.v. Troublesome to have it just for returning back to sleep in wee hours as I've really come to enjoy life without t.v.

Use self hypnosis
When we are almost about to drift off to sleep we are in the same level of consciousness as hypnosis. So anything that gets repeated over and over again becomes hypnotic suggestion.
In your case, keep repeating to yourself over and over again a mantra such as, " I shall sleep all night long ... I shall sleep all night long....I shall sleep all night long .................." until you re finally asleep. If by chance you do wake up in the middle of the night do the same thing once again.
One can lose weight, stop smoking and have a nice tomorrow using self hypnosis in this way. It works, believe me!!!!!!

I know exactly what you mean --- I find turning the TV on or reading puts me right back to sleep.
