Mangosteen!

Immune function is a complex subject. The role of the gut in response to total health of the body is very important . The food we eat is the primary source of reactions pepetuated within the body.

Hydrochloric acid in the stomach and other factors play a part in triggering the pancreas to produce pancreatic enzymes that help digest foods in the form of fats, carbhydrates, and protiens. If the acid in the stomach is too low then the pancreas will not function normally and an overgrowth of bacteria will take place in the small intestine.

This can be the foundation for vitamin and mineral deficiences, osteoporosis, hardening of the arteries, arthritis, colon cancer, food allergies and autoimmune diseases.
Overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine will lead to an erosion of the inner or mucosal lining of the samll intestine that then causes Leaky Gut Syndrome.

Nutrients in your food are absorbed into your bloodsteam from both the small and large intestine. Food that is'nt digested entirely will not be absorbed. Incompletely digested protiens can cause major gastrointestinal irritation ( such as colitis, gas, or nervous stomach) and can lead to food allegies. Numerous different microbes exist in the intestinal tract and it's typical to have trillions.

Preferably you have 'friendly' bacteria to aid with digestion, vitamin manufacturing, and immune protection.
Unfortunately, many ordinary actions can destroy the frail balance of bacteria. Using antibiotics, steroids, hormone pills, or a diet high in fat and sugar wreaks destruction on bacterial levels, leading to imbalances in bacteria and yeast, which can lead to illness.

The immune system is greatly enhanced by the consumption of Mangosteen juice on a daily basis. Good nutrition is the first line of defence for a normal immune system, but experience suggests that most people will not change their diet unless they think they are going to die. This is why it is so very important to drink Mangosteen juice on a daily basis. Remember, it is a powerfull anti-inflammatory and it is well documented as an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent. It heals Leaky Gut Syndrome, which is the root of most modern diseases. By healing the gut, it prevents large undigested particles of food from being absorbed through the gut lining and thus triggering antigen reactions and autoimmune diseases.

Why take a drug when a food could do the same thing?

A daily regimen of mangosteen, with it's anti-biotic properties, is a good investment! J.Frederic Templeman M.D.

Garlic is supposed to be great. Slice it thinly and swallow it whole so you don't get the taste. Also, I hear wonderful things about honey. I also drink loads of fresh juice that I make in the juicer, be sure to add parsley, capsicum and loads of green vegies; taste like crap but believe me it is powerful in nutrients (I don't know about helping your immune system, but it certainly relieves a bloated tummy and constipation!) Good luck.

I'm not 100% about foods, but it's worth taking echinacia as that really does help.My GP recommended it to me after I got a post-op infection and it was taking me a long time to recover. I really felt that it helped.
