when guys ask me what i do for a living, they always assume im a beautician because of the way i look-stereotypical i know!! they always seem to be put off when i tell them that i am infact a trainee solicitor.

Wouldn't put me off. I think a bachelor of law is a VERY sexy thing in a lady. Studying for one myself.

Geez what kind of guys are you talking to? I think its sexy to be doing something like that.

I remember on the radio they were joking that women are so picky about what guys do, so if you're a doctor its an automatic tick. But if a guy is chatting up a beautiful girl and she says she works in an abbatoir they will be asking all sorts of questions even though they don't care ie it doesn't matter to guys

Find someone thats an equal to you, or at least respects all the hard work that it takes to get where you are.

Good luck

If the guys are put of by your profession then I think that you are mixing with the wrong people. I think that there are loads of guys from all walks of life that would like to meet up with you even just for some conversation and over a wide range of subjects. Pls. do not mention what you do if you feel that you will get the kind of response that you have had to suffer. Just say that you would rather not say or that you work in a morgue, see what their re action is then.

My opinion is because you are a stonrg and intellegent woman. A man can sometimes be put off by a woman they feel iferior to. If they feel that you will not need them (I am not referring to all men btw) they can get turned off. You really want to look for a guy who doesn't ask you out because of the way you look. You really want to be judged for more than your pretty face. When you find a man like that, the chances are that he will not be turned off but in fact turned on by your occupation.

Because I think the moment you say "trainee solicitor" two images come to mind

A) IRS Tax Collector

B) Female Correctional Officer
neither of which us guys ever wanna become entangled in.I think you'll get a better vibe if you say like...oh I dunno...Model.... ....stripper(*goes into dreamlike state*).......hooker... *voice trails off*

Beats me! I'd love a solicitor. All I've ever had was beauticians and nurses.

Hey, this is kind a strange to me, i don't know the exact answer to this but i think one don't come across solicitors in their general life so often.especially daily life.or solicitors are strict, very formal people may be thats why. i don't know to be very honest but i won't judge any body by their profession rather go out quickly if she is attractive and is willing to go out with me,lol.

they become intimidated because you are probably smarter than they are and will be set to earn a lot more money than what they do..... they feel threatened and feel as though they will have the underhand in the relationship if it becomes a relationship.some Men just want a beautiful trophy girlfriend to look beautiful hanging on their arm and don't say much because they are not that smart.

men don't like women to be in possitions that are above them and a job like solicitor is a job thats for keeps they might be intimidated by the fact that you know where you are going, thinking that you have a 5 year plan for marriage and children or something. also men like to have the higher income

In some countries, 5' for a girl would be tall! And some of those girls are incredibly cute. So don't worry, I don't think your height is a problem.
