I have been suffering from extreme insomnia lately and it's really ruining my life. In attempt to try and overcome it, i tried to come find out where it was coming from. It suddenly occured to me that this time last year i suffered a horrific car accident in which my neck was temporarly damaged.

Now the neck pains have come back and i can't sleep....I was wondering if they could possibly be linked? Is it possible that my trauma has come back to celebrate its anniversary?

Yes, it definitely can come back. It's weird how our bodies can "remember" something like that without us realizing it at first. A similar situation happened to me when my grandfather died. Every month on the 27th, I'd get very sad and start thinking about him out of the blue. Then, I'd look at the calendar.

Can you talk to your doctor about some treatments to help combat the insomnia? Lack of sleep can mess with *everything*, I know. And getting a good night's sleep may help releive the neck pain as well. Also, you may want to consider talking with a psychologist once in a while. Sometimes talking about your feelings can help you cope. Even if the accident happened a year ago, you may still feel the repurcussions--both mentally and physically--for a while.

Hope you feel better soon!
