My husband and i live in a small one bedroom apartment with our ten month old daughter. We are planning to buy a nice place in two years, when some bonds we have mature.
However, we can afford to rent a much bigger place, and give our daughter her own room. (We are in no hurry to kick her out of our room, but her own play room at least would be nice)
Would you stay in the small apartment and save the extra money that could be used towards the home you will purchase in two years, or rent a larger, family sized apartment for those two years?

i think you should just upgrade to a 2 bedroom! you dont need anything more then 2 bedrooms! and you can still save money that way! you and the hubby are probably going to want some alone time!! and also the longer she stays in your room! the harder it is to move her out!!

I'm in this situation myself, living in a small flat in a not great area, but the rent is so cheap we have saved nearly £3000 in a year towards deposit. Some of our friends are renting bigger houses and I do envy them, and they have nice furniture and decorations and stuff cos they're not saving. But, in the long run, we'll definitely be better off, just stick at it, I know it's really hard but just think, in a few years you'll have your own place and if you rent the larger apartment, there's no guarantee you'll be afford as good a place. It is really tough though, I know. Good luck!!

I would definately try to stay and save. Your living room can be part playroom- and if you think your daughter sleeping in another room will be a problem down the road, you could have her go to bed earlier than you so that she is use to going to bed in a room alone. Your daughter is young, she won't ever remember feeling cramped, and as long as your family is happy, that is all that matters.

a 2 year old may be harder to share a room with than a 10 month old!! I personally like my privacy, but there are families all over the world who live in smaller quarters than you do. It's just a matter of what you want.

The child needs thier own space too. IF you could afford it I would do it, Because I am pretty sure your room is over crowded with her stuff...And I know you want her to be comfortable. At least she has her stuff in her room.

I would stay and save.
It would not only save you money but, save a little sanity from moving twice in two years.

I think I would stick it out. I know it's hard because we too are in a small apartment right now with a 17 months old. If you can manage, so it it will be worth it. Your daughter doesn't know the difference right now.

You have a good plan, and I understand your issue. I would stay and save so you can have that nice place that you want and you won't be moving every few years.

As long as you and your husband can handle it, I would stay and save. This is just temporary, it'll pay off in the long run.
