Its not about what his mother wants its about what you'll want. How can you allow his mother to have that much say so in your relationship? Its none of her business and I think you should get that across before this goes any further. Tell her and your boyfriend when the time is right you'll will have a family no sooner and no later.

Do you and your BOYFRIEND want a baby? Are you in love with each other and ready for a big commitment? Are you planning to get married? This is pretty much a Non Question here.

What his mother wants doesn't mean anything.

Have children when the two of you want to, when the two of you feel ready and have the resources to do so.

My mother came with the same comment to me and my husband after we'd been together a while.(Before we actually got married) After talking to her about her nagging, she admitted she didn't mean to push it. Just her (Rather odd!) way of showing that she "approved" of us and she liked him. It might be something like that too.

You aren't married. Isn't it strange that your mom is asking when you are going to have a child before you are married?
