It's not. India is the spiritual center of all Hindu religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Laamaism, etc.)

Rome is the spiritual center of Catholicism.

Jerusalem is the spiritual center of Judaism and Protestantism.

Mecca is the spiritual center of Islam.

These last four religions that I've mentioned never consider India to be the center of anything important.

India is the spiritual centre of all nations because of its saints and sufis who taught human equality, universal brotherhood and peace, ethics, manners, etiquitte, way of life and spirituality, with their Islamic teachings of Quran and the last Prophet.

Hindus are divided among 4 varnas and hundreds of castes. Hinduism is not a religion. Hinduism is a custom, tradition, usage, rite, etc. Hindus are not equal among their castes. A Hindu is born as Hindu only in his caste by nature, which he can never change. By attending the jobs prescribed for his caste by nature, he could attain perfection and get rid of rebirths/deaths. Shudras are born to serve Brahmins, Kshatriyas &Vaishas; should not read, write or get education.

Bored of these, many hindus joined Islam, influenced by the saints & sufis teachings.

I will say that India has the capacity to be one, because a true saint is always available in India. But only one- not many- as they are found flourishing today and whose aim is just to influence the western world.
A true saint is possible in other parts of the world also as was during Christ, Mohammed etc's times. But in India a true saint is always available. Just think of it that inspite of this, what a sorry state of affairs we are in!We have learnt only to boast and denigrate others, without understanding the true meaning of Dharma.

Because the Divine Educators such as Khrisna, Buddha and other educators shed abundantly the spiritual light on that admirable sub-continent very early in the Adamic Cycle.
The great majority of the Indian people are very devoted and very tolerant. Besides Hinduism and Buddhism originated on that land, they warmly and peacefully welcome all other religions such as Islam, Christianity, Baha'i...The Indians do not take religion as something to follow, but they really live the religious life.
Some fanatic Hindus have killed Mahatma Gandhi, but see how the Indian people admire his tolerance and love for all his people and even His imperalist oppressors.

Indians are known for the selflessness. they are known for the forgiving tendency, for the generosity, known for the patience the people have. People have suffered a lot from the oppressors yet we have forgiven them.
being a secular country we have in short encouraged all religions to flourish in the country. I don't think any other country in the world knows to respect the people sentiments, respect & show compassion to the old people.
