1.Add a flower on the elastic or whatever that's holding your ponytail.
2. Stick rhinstones along the length of your ponytail.
3. When plaiting, hold a colourful ribbon with one section of hair, so that the ribbon gets woven in the plait.
4. Wear several tiny plaits on your head, leaving most of the hair loose.
5. Instead of wearing a flower at the top or the bottom of the plait, wear a flower on the middle of the plait. You could go off centre, too.
6. Wear interesting and colourful material to hold the ponytail or plait in place. Use dried flowers and leaves, even twigs and jute to decorate the hair accessories.
7. Try different hair partings. Go zig-zag, U-turn, criss-cross, off-centre, centre or side ways or no parting at all. You have to be creative and in the "mood" for the particular occassion that asks for it, to do this.
Just remember to enjoy the look whatever it is, and it is also worth knowing that healthy, well-moisturised hair begs for no accessories!

1) Stylish scrunchies/hair ties. A plain scrunchy or band isn't going to do much justice. You can buy normal, dark-coloured bands that have really stylish ornate silver clips on them.
2) Fake hair. You can buy them as clip-ons. Try and buy one close to your hair colour (but different enough to create a contrast effect) and clip it to the back of your head, and weave it into your braid. Will look very pretty! If the fake hair is too long, you can cut it to size quite easily.
3) Tendrils. You can make a ponytail all pretty and romantic by carefully pulling your baby hair (the short, soft slightly curled pieces of hair at your hairline) free so that the ponytail softens your face. Have a few little tendrils curling near your ears (looks very pretty with a pair of nice earrings).
4) The 1/2 size bandannas look super cute with a ponytail at the back!
5) Finally, if you don't mind being girly, glitter/glitter-gel can make you more sparkly! Don't over-do it, though, or you'll look like you stepped out of the 80s. Some shops stock gels that give a sheen rather than a glitter, which looks more subtle.

umm, are you a girl or a guy?
LOL, i mean do you want pretty ribbons in your hair if you're a guy? But then maybe you are and you do.... so i cant help you.
If you're girl, have you tried to part the hair at the front section of your head and plait them (one on either side) and then tie them together, leaving the rest of the hair out? Doesn't always work, but it can... Also think the hair out with small plaits on the top layer (or throughout) looks good even if you do tie it in a ponytail... can even use a fine ribbon through them

You should wear a headband with your ponytail. The thicker head bands in either solid shades or polka-dots are pretty cool, I see a lot of girls wearing that and it looks nice. You could also use a pretty barrett instead of just an elastic ponytail holder, barrets are good for lower ponytails. Hope I helped a bit.

Use any ONE of the following, [Not all!]:
1. Use a red / pink ribbon to tie the hair up.
2. Make a big Bow with colourful ribbons, and clip with your hair band.
3. Use one single rose (Red/Pink/Yellow/ / White!) to adorn a corner of your plaited hair over one ear.
4. Use a silver brooch to tie the hair in a bunch, when you tie the hair in a pony tail.
Have FUN!!
