No, most don't! Typical prayer today is typical human nature, "Gimmie"! That is the most elementary form of prayer and the least productive. What God designed is that we pray for one another in selflessness, not for ourselves in selfishness. It is the same in the natural realm. Babies and litle child rarely ask for anything except for thesmelves. As we mature and realize the world does not center around us we begin to look for the good of others, and their needs. So it is with prayer. You really never grow spiritually until you give up all selfishness and seek to "lay down your life for others".

Yes that's true we are supposed to be intercessory prayer for others than for ourself but God still cares about you and your own needs and yes He does love us and answers prayer only sometimes the answer to a prayer for us maybe no.

I spend much of my prayer time giving worship and glory to Our Father. I call on Jesus for myself, quite often throughout the day and then the rest of the time is in prayer for others. This might sound odd, but I pray in my sleep sometimes too.

Well if there is a clock on the wall maybe you can measure the time spent in intercession and petition. Then you will know.

Praying to god shows that people do not have faith in god. They want things to be different than god wants it. Hence they do not agree and/or trust the almighty. They know better that god and want him to know he makes bad decisions.

I am not so faithful in doing that. I pray that God should impart in me faithfulness.
