When I thinking about Islam I think of God as a harsh task master. The threat of hell fire is always above my head? When I read the Koran i feel no comfort only coldness, I cannot be friends with Jews or Christians it says. In contrast the New testament i found to be full of forgiveness, plentiful in understadning iof what human beings are - the idea of forgiveness, just for being willing to be good was a great feeling. I want to be a good man - and I feel that the best man who ever lived was Jesus'. No where in Islam can you find Love your neighbour as yourself - and who is your neighbour, your enemy, those who persecute you - that is why i still love Muslims - i just find no comfort in the religion.
But was i right? i have my doubts? i have always been told i would be thrown into hell fire if i left - and although those are the ideas i am trying to get away from - the notion still lingers with me. Am i right to have done this?

for adria - i am aware of the surah you talk of, but the other surah i was thinking of was when it says, 'do not befriend the christians and the jews, for they will be friends with each other' - what is your explanation for that - God says two different things at once - of course christians and jews will go to heaven - they are people of the book, but as for being friends, surely muslims can'ty beon teh advice of teh koran. just alot of mulsims choose to ignore the koran's advice.
you call God just - ye you know nothing of the nature of God, God is unkowable according to Islam - you are talking of human justice, but true divine justice is a God that forgives irrespective of hate, murder, greed, jealousy 0 that is God, a God who does not forgive seems all too human, almost Satanic. God is unknowable - how can you say you can read his heart. a murderer murders - in heaven, if he repents, he will be the closest of friends with those who he murderer

For Akmal - Islam allows the killing of the guilty. for all humans that is wrong, only God should judge and kill, not humans - some muslims are guilty of taking on the role of God because they kill in his name, even if a man murdered a hundred people he does not deserve to die - God will judge him. that is why we have eternal life - for God to judge our deeds on earth. men should not judge - even the most wicked, for everyone might be loved by God - you just don't know.
Do not kill - means do not kill. it does not mean do not kill the innocent - anyone believes in killing will inherit death in eternal life. this is why christianity is superior - we should love our enemies

As a Muslim myself.. I guess the only thing i can say to answer your question, i do whatever you feel is right.
I am not God to judge you...
But I must say.. you didnt mention reading the Ahadith. Because the Quran as a book on its own is not for following.. the Ahadith contrasts the Quran in many different aspects.
Don't get me wrong im not saying you shouldnt follow it...But you should understand that Islam is a religion based on logic, among other things.. And so with the Ahadith.. you get that logic that applies to people of today...
Good luck with whatever you pursue...
Peace and Love..

You can be friend with Christians. Here's the proof, surah 2:62.
"Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in God and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve."
Allah is not harsh, he's just. So do you think it's really alright for someone to murder others, begs for forgiveness and get's away with it?
Well, basicly you were biased when you read the Qu'ran, you never paid attention to all the verses, the verse after that or the verse before, you didn't really cared anyway I think.

I think you are right to explore other paths if you doubt your beliefs. I don't believe in religion myself, but for those who do it is a decision only you can make & should not be decided by pressure from others

Today in the Jummah prayer's sermon, I showed my own people, how they badly have knowledge about Islam, though they are practicing Islam. Well what to say about you, I think God never gave you the chance to learn Islam at all.
If you want to learn the true Islam, you are most welcome, God promise I will make you fall in love with Islam.

What i don't comprehend is - in case you hate Islam lots - then why do you subject coming to a trustworthy question like this? shouldn't you be averting it, shouldn't you be ignoring Islam? despite. in comparison to you bigotted idiots, i've got taken the time to verify approximately different religions. i've got study the bible in its entirety. i've got study area of the Talmud. and of direction, i've got study the Quran As for the question, my grandmother have been given married at 13 - and that grew to become into considered ordinary in Arab land. Now, of direction, the cases have replaced. With reducing mortality costs, and greater valuable well-being circumstances, human beings stay longer and would get married at later dates. the regularly occurring public of Muslims right this moment in Arab countries get married after severe college or for the time of faculty. Why does celibacy make somebody greater religious? Adam had Eve. Does that make him vile? God in reality created us with companions - with equals. Now, why did the Prophet Muhammad have distinctive different halves? Islam allowed for adult men to have distinctive different halves provided that the guy could take care of his different halves all the two. meaning that in case you purchased a 24 carat ring for one, you may desire to purchase a 24 carat ring for the different. in case you spend one weekend with one interior the Bahamas, you may desire to spend one weekend with the different. The Prophet Muhammad had distinctive different halves with the intention to guard them financially. interior the previous Arab cases, it grew to become into considered very perplexing for a woman to be financially look after and not employing a guy. via fact, in those cases, very few lady worked - nonetheless Muhammad's first spouse did (yet having mentioned that, she asked to marry him). So, with the intention to guard them from penury or complication, he married those women human beings. it would be spoke of that each and each and each and each physique of his different halves agreed to marrying him. And Aisha, the youngest, grew to become into his maximum cherished. And that she enjoyed him dearly. study thoughts approximately her existence. examine how she defined him. This wasn't a forceful marriage, and he or she wasn't unhappy.
