Sunlight is a natural anti-depressiant believe it or not, so rather than watch tv or something go outside, and sit at a park, go for a drive.
By the way, just something to anticipate, mothers tend to feel very depressed after giving birth, because they have to part with a living being that's been living in them for a long time, and feel like they've lost that closeness.
Judging by the rest of what I read from your post, maybe your living situation should change a little, perhaps you should find a different job, get an apartment thats more open, and has lots of windows.

I'd think if you're going to take anything, even herbal remedies, while pregnant you're going to want a doctor monitoring. I don't know about St. John's Wort in pregnancy but Dr. Hale (a leading researcher in breastfeeding medications) doesn't recommend it for breastfeeding mothers because something crosses over into the milk and the effects on the newborn haven't been studied.
Sunlight is a good suggestion to lift mood. Also find a hobby you enjoy. Maybe try making something for the baby. And don't discount exercise but talk to your doctor about what's appropriate for you.
You also might consider looking for a mom's group. I know the local hospital here had a meeting for moms who are due around the same time and then extends that to a playgroup for the first year of the babies'' lives. I know a few moms who have continued the groups on their own through the toddler and pre-school years. I think "mom's group" but any group that gives you contact with other people can help. People who have friends tend to handle life's ups and downs better so you might nurture current friendships and find new ones as a way to cope.
Best of luck and hope you're feeling happier soon.

You really need to speak to a specialist because you don't want to have a negative effect on your baby.
The things I would recommend are 5HTP (a natural serotonin booster) or Rhodiola. But I wouldn't want you take them without advice. If you see a medical herbalist (look in the yellow pages under alternative/complementary therapies) and they will be able to give you detailed advice.
I also think counselling is by far the best option. You can ask your doctor to refer you but I am sure there are pregnancy support services. Your doctor would know about these as well.

Depression is happiness turned inside out. If it were me I'd begin to take my life back one day at a time. We live in a world that would have us believe we are owned by doom and gloom.
"alternatives to antidepresants"
Pray for strength, wisdom, and guidance
Gardening
Sunlight...open all your blinds and curtains as soon as you wake
Creativity - Joann Fabrics..Hobby Lobby...Michaels
Visiting - especially those who are lonely
Join a group activity
Rescue a pet from the shelter...so many are rejected
Invite family over to play a board game
Redecorate or rearrange a couple rooms in your home
The list is endless...

This may not help you at the moment, but I found marijuana the only antidepressent i could take... I was prescribed many others and couldn't handle the side effects.
There isn't enough research on the effects of weed and pregnancy (that is, that I consider unprejudiced) however the lack of such leaves me inclined to advise you to abstain until post-pregnancy. If still in need then, I am of the opinion it is the best antidepressent there is, unfortunately, illegal. Sorry I couldn't help more
