I am a christain and I got saved years ago. I dont attend church regularly but I do my best to read God's word and to live an honest and upright life. Where I can I help those who need spiritual uplifting. I have always believed and nothing has ever made me stop believing in the power of God.

However this past week I have found myself very depressed because even though I pray, and try my best to do his will, and pray for him to show me how to do his will, it seems my prayers and faith in God has all been in vain. I have been looking for a job for years now but I can't get one. Its not as if I sit around hoping a job will pop up. I've continued studying trying to further myself and I've tried starting my own small business but it seems nothing ever works out. there are so many things wrong in my life I could go on and on. Its not like I dont appreciate the good things, I'm not saying its all bad. I am just tired, and I wonder if at all God is even there! I'm tried!!

Hi there.I know it's overused, but I think that goes to prove the wisdom of it-when we pray, sometimes the answer is 'yes',sometimes 'no',and sometimes 'wait'.It can be hard when nothing in your life seems to be going right, and it can make you feel really hopeless and down, and sometimes it feels like God isn't even there. But remember that He is.A good read when you are feeling hopeless,or feeling that God isn't there,is the book of Job.Even after the most horrendous things happened to him,Job kept his faith and trust in God.
Psalm 43:5
"Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God."
1 Peter 5:7
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
Psalm 27:14
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. of David."
Hebrews 4:16
"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need"
Psalm 27:14
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. of David."
Psalm 130:5
"I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope."

Spiritual uplifting. .Use the form you're on right now. Go to a nursing home and help some people. Buy some Christian tracts (Ray Comfort has all kinds, go to his web page) and place them in places around town.Join a discussion group. Ask a newspaper if you can submit articles from time to time sharing your thoughts or faith. About a job--Something is better than nothing. Many stores need sales clerks, check out girls, etc. Do you have some sort of talent? Could you sow for people, clean house, baby sit, do some planting/landscaping, care for an elderly person?? These may not be top notch jobs, but they are a start. In the mean time you can still continue your education, put in other job apps, etc. God Luck...

God is still there but are you? The Word says "don't forsake the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is, so much more as you see the day approaching." It sounds like you are not walking in full obedience to the known, revealed will of God. This opens a door for satan to attack you. The second thing I would encourage you in is not to tie your Faith into specific results. Faith is based in God - who He is, what He has said, the fact that He is a good and loving God who knows and understands far more than us. If He allows the trial to be long (like Job) there is a reason and we can learn to trust and depend on Him through it. Maybe it is to teach you how to do spiritual warfare - how to use your authority in God to make satan back up in your life. Whatever the "reason" - God assured us that His grace would be sufficient to see us through. Use this as an occasion to go deeper in God - prayer and fasting, study the Word for answers. I will pray that God breathes a new spirit of life, strength, understanding and direction in your life. That He will open up a way for your needs to be met - and most importantly that His will be done in your life. His strength be made perfect in your weakness, and as your burden bearer that all your cares be rolled onto Him. Trust Him, Lean upon Him and let Him carry you through this tough time. In Worship you will find His Presence close and real and there you will find renewed rest for your weary spirit. May God reveal Himself to you in a new and living way. God Bless.

Life is full of ups and downs and it looks like you are in a "down". But it doesn't last forever. I think of the lines of a song which goes:

" Every desperate prayer it seemed like
heaven refused, and some days I found
faith in just tying my shoes, and it was
all I could do to press on."

Sometimes just getting up to face the day when you're feeling down can be a real act of faith. I know. I've been there. But you never know. That one day when you think nothing can go right could turn out to be the day when the sun finally comes out. God is there through all your struggles, and doubts. He will never let go of you.
You can't see the light at the end of the tunnel right now but I believe your efforts to better yourself are NOT in vain. Your education and desire to better yourself will eventually be rewarded. I like your name. "Solid" that tells me a lot about your character. I know you will survive.

I wish I knew more about your situation. Are you married? Does your husband work? Why can't you attend a church regularly?

Maybe God doesn't want you to have a job right now, maybe He wants you focusing on something more important. Remember, don't get too caught up in the world and what it says.
We are to be in the world but not OF the world. It doesn't matter what we do for a living, but HOW we do it. Please email me if you'd like to chat further, God bless!

God is REAL, He is there, and He loves you, keep the faith!

"He works for the good of those who love Him"

God is there and he does care for you. More than you may know it.

Sit down in a quiet place. Talk to Him. Tell Him everything. If your angry shout is out to Him, If your sad dont hide the tear. "God meets us where we are". We dont have to make things up or make our selves something we are not.

God knows what you are going through. It is through the hard times that we learn. We learn to have faith and to Trust in God who we do not see physically but we know it there.

God knows you love Him. He knows your doing your best. This is a time where your love and faith in Him would be tested. God has not left you alone. He is there right beside you.

"God Speaks Even in the Silences" When your praying he is listning to you. He will answer you, in His time and when you are ready to hear the answers.

"Cast your burdens on the Lord and He will carry you through" "Trust your God with all your heart, With all your Strenght and all your might"

Dont Loose Faith. Right now God is with you. He may not say anything but He is with you.

Of course God is there for you and He is listening maybe it's just not the right time for you to have a job. Go to college and find something you really would like to do and spread God's word. Always spread God's word. Through time and prayer and witnessing to others God will show you the way.

I'm sorry your suffering right now. It's ok if you don't go to church all the time, just remember His Holy Day and lift up a prayer of thanks and maybe spend a little time in the word. Whenever I'm troubled, I Kinda go over this mental check list with Jesus to see maybe what I've been doin wrong. Sometimes it takes a quite a bit of work to get there, but you will because you got Jesus and God on your side :)

I understand how you feel and hope that this will shed some light on why you're going through this.

2 Timothy 3:1
But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here

Basicially were are in the last day's of this system of things, and it not going to get any easier (Matthew 24:3-14). Basicially you need to hang in there and trust in God. What you need to do now is study the Bible and see what it really say's about what's going on (John 17:3).
The thing is that there's so many different groups out there picking the right one to study with isn't easy. But it is important (Matthew 7:21-23). I had a free Bible study with the Jehovah's Witnesses, I learn't so much from the Bible with there help, and I know you can to. I know it's easy for me to say that, but here's a couple of things that make them stand out.

They don't celebrate Christmas - Just type 'the pagan origins of christmas' into any search engine, and you see how unChristian it is.

They use 'Jehovah' which is God's name (Acts 15:14).

They don't use idols in the form of the cross, Jesus, Mary or the Apostles (Deuteronomy 5:8-10).

It's just a few of many things, and you'll never regret having a bible study with them.

2 Peter 3:3-10
. 3 For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires 4 and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.”

5 For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; 6 and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water. 7 But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men.

8 However, let this one fact not be escaping YOUR notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. 9 Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance. 10 Yet Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a hissing noise, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be discovered.

11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought YOU to be in holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion, 12 awaiting and keeping close in mind the presence of the day of Jehovah, through which [the] heavens being on fire will be dissolved and [the] elements being intensely hot will melt! 13 But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell.
