Absolutely!
As a smoker, my voice has become lower and huskier the more I smoke. (Actually I think it sounds sexier! LOL)

Yes I do agree. I am a smoker and enjoy it..sorry. But I do know
that my voice is lower and raspy also. If you are thinking of smoking and don't currently smoke don't start and for so many other reasons than your voice!!

Apparently it can make the voice deeper over time. I have a very husky voice but I've never smoked in my life! Maybe it's all the smoke I breathed in when I was a child living with my Mother and my two sisters, all of whom smoked excessively.

Not only that but when they speak, if you look at some of their mouths, when they speak, their jaw and mouth almost forms in a way as though they are about to take a smoke and around their lips are lots of wrinkles.

No I have smoked for over 30 years and it has done nothing to my voice(has not even aged me)

I don't know anyone who smoked throughout their life whose voice doesn't show it. I think it's the raspy-ness more than the lowness of it that I notice though. yuuuuuck.

defiantly does! I'm a singer and gave up smoking almost 4 weeks ago, my singing has defiantly changed pitch, for the better i may add!
