Their religion gives them the right to be hypocrites so chances are logical reasoning will have little to no effect.

I disagree with your claim that most Xtians don't crack the Bible. When I was a Bible-thumper, I read the book constantly. But not the whole thing. It was very selective reading. We were given lots of detail about certain passages in the Bible. Most other passages, however, were simply forgotten.
The fact is, the Bible is riddled with more contradictions than not. It is an interesting collection of documents, but it has been so hopelessly translated and mistranslated and doctored and politicized that it is impossible to get any kind of clear picture of what the original writers meant. Not only do we not have the original texts of the Bible, but we don't even have copies of the copies of the copies of the copies of the copies of the copies of the originals.
One thing I find quite interesting is that the King James Version of the Bible, so often touted as being THE Bible of choice for most fundies, is an incredibly misguided translation, based on very faulty material.
But fundamentalist Christians will not see any of this. All they will say is 'It's the word of God.' And that seems to take care of any problem that arises when you discover just how many contradictions and plain old wrong information is in it.

I don't believe that psychics are real, in fact Oprah just interviewed one today. He looked ridiculous, and Oprah was right to be skeptical and asked some pretty good questions.
I do, however, believe that prophets are capable of telling the future.
Here's how it works:
God plans stuff for us.
He tells a prophet what he's planning.
The prophet tells us.
God carries out his plans.
In appearance, the prophet seems to have predicted the future, but really all he or she has done is repeat what God said. There is no special ability that a prophet has to do anything beyond this, and this is why Moses imposed the death penalty on any prophet whose predictions did NOT come to pass.
The law had a dual purpose: to chase away false prophets, and to ensure that all who DID prophesy were closely watched. Those whose predictions actually DID come true were obviously in connection with God.
You'll also find another test that Moses imposed upon prophets, and that was the compliance with other laws. The people of Israel were encouraged to bring to punishment any prophet who tried to lead Israel into idol worship. This, again, was in direct contradiction of a true connection to God. Anyone who has had a conversation with a living, breathing deity will NOT soon divert into idol worship! There's an obvious difference between a deity who reveals himself and a piece of wood carved into a lifeless little statue.
I would encourage you to do the same. Don't ever believe anyone's claims about God. Research for yourself. The only deities who will ever reveal themselves to you are the ones that are real, and they will only reveal themselves to you if they care to do so. Those who don't care about you aren't worth knowing.

Being apart of a group allows you to be labled very broadly. It isn't fair. You are correct in saying that the bible does speak against it. The reason is though that the devil will mislead you. God also says where your mind is your heart will be also. When some people speak they may speak of God but their hearts will be far from him. Oh and is isn't anything wrong with doubting or arguing. Argue all you want and doubt if you will, soon enough you will run out of doubts. Do you think that it was chance that you asked that question on here? God gave me an Answer for you. Ask and you will recieve. Thirst and you will be quenched. Search to show thou self aprooved. God Bless!

honey, there is a BIG difference between today's so called "psychics" and the Gifts of the Spirit. Totally different source. There are some psychics who may be in touch with the spirit world but it is NOT God's Holy Spirit. God does not use "psychics" He uses Prophets. It is not just different wording either. The Spirit is different, the Source is different, the Purpose is different. Please don't be fooled by satan's nonsense and lies. Wherever you find the real (the Gifts of the Spirit) you will find the deception of satan "mimicking" it (psychics).

No I think that the Bible warns us to stay away from anything to do with the occult, and psychics, fortune-tellers, Tarot readers etc fall under this category, true prophecy only comes from God and the evil one can suggest to people that they are genuine psychics but his nature is that of a liar and deceiver.

Oh for goodness sake, read your Bible and you will know the truth. You avoid the Bible so much but then you have questions. Read the Bible for yourself. We are so tired of fighting with atheists and everyone else who thinks our God/bible/religion is fake.

The bible is so full of contradictions what is one more?
As for Christians most of them never even crack the book so how would they know what is or is not in the bible!
Most of them think Eve ate an Apple even though the word Apple isn't even in GENESIS! There ideas come not from a bible but a Church doctrine!
The church is their God. Hence the reason why if you say you reject the church they will ask or say that you reject God!

i have argued this point many times here
and i agree with you
i have even had some say that its ok if you are Christian as it is God given then ... but if not Christian then it must come from Satan
psychic ability is not only real ... it is needed for survival
