The answer is humans, but not because of why you think. Despite what Walt Disney puts out there, animals rarely think of others, and almost never will sacrifice themselves for another. The main exception being a mother with young. Humans, on the other hand, will put themselves into danger not only for other humans that they don't know, but for animals. Just ask any Fireman, Police Officer, or EMT.

Human Beings. Because we are the only species capable of mass destruction, making other species exinct... increasing pollution, creating the Greenhouse effect because of our drive for modernization.
