The baby is in the birth canal ready for birth my daughter was in this posit on for 3 weeks before I gave birth. Your midwife will decide whether you can have a c-section.. normally only in complications. Good luck

when i was in labour the doctors decided after 13 hours that i was too exhausted to give birth naturally, and also my baby was starting to show signs of distress. i was taken into theatre where they prepared me for surgery. my baby was already at the top of the birth canal whilst all of this was happening, but he didn't seem to want to come out ! in the end they decided to try an epesiotomy and forceps before they committed themselves to performing a c-section. i was lucky - they managed to delivery my baby using forceps. i'd much rather have that than a c-section, purely because the recovery rate is usually a lot quicker after having a normal delivery rather than a c-section. the thought of my mother-in-law descending on me for goodness knows how long didn't exactly fill me with joy ! lol (she'd told me that she would come and stay so she could look after me if i had a c-section... i know she was trying to be nice, but she has a nasty habit of taking over, and i hate it when people do that) anyway - the point of all this ^ is to explain that yes, they can perform a c-section on you when your baby has dropped, they can pull the baby out even if the head is 'pretty much stuck down there'. basically, the doctors know best, and if u need a c-section, then try not to worry about it - the main thing is that both u and your baby are safe. take care, and if u are pregnant, then 'congratulations!' and 'good luck' !

U will only get a C-section if u or your baby are at risk or you cant have a natural birth. A Natural birth is an amazing thing to do in your life, you should feel blessed as some people just dont get the opportunity to experience this. If you ask for a C-section they will probably say NO.

Unless you have a very good reason for having a c-section the midwives won't give you one. If you are young fit and healthy they won't give you a c section. I asked for one when i went in to have my third child and wasn't allowed one because of the above reasons and plus i'd delivered all my children naturally without complications. Also after a c section you aren't able to do much as you have a wound on your tummy so doing anything with the baby will be extremely difficult and uncomfortable with the risk of infections too

Wow, I actually went through this in August. My water had broke and my son had dropped (obviously), but he wasn't in the birth canal if that's what you mean. He was just ready. My cervix wouldn't dilate and I ending up having to have a C-Section because after your water breaks you have a 24 hr window for delivery (due to risk of infection). If you're meaning that the baby has dropped as in down further into the pelvis yes it still possible to get a C-Section. If the baby has dropped into the birth canal they will do everything they can not to do a C-Section because of the risks and complications invovled.

Just because the baby is in the birth canal does not mean a
C-section can't be done. My niece was in labor for 36 hours with the baby's head in the birth canal. But finally the doctors determined her cervix was not going to allow her to give birth normally. The baby started to show stress, so they delivered it by C-section. The baby came out with a cone head but in a couple hours went down to normal size and everyone was fine.

Here in Spain they've gone C-section crazy. If a birth goes so much as a hair's breadth off track the knives come out. Women are going off to Holland to have their babies naturally. I think the rate is somewhere near 80% non-natural. I was born breech back in '77. Go figure.
