my boyfriend of a long time told me one day, "dont hide your tears because its cute when your crying" why do they think that ?

because when you cry your opening yourself up,being completely vulnerable and weak
they like that you trust them enough to cry in front of them making them feel more masculine.

I don't think it's cute at all when a girl cries. Infact I hate when they cry because I am never sure what to say.

I would hate to see my partner cry. Any self respecting guy who truly loves or at least cares about his lady will do almost anything to save her from a moments pain or grief. Kick him in the nuts and tell him you think it looks cute when he's doubled over in pain squealing like a little girl....

Men DO NOT think its cute and your boyfriend may either be gay or crazy. I would suggest you turn on the gay-dar and see if it goes off.
A crying female gets on my (and ALL men's) last nerve and I know its fake and its being used to manipulate. I tend to watch with a blank stare to see how long she can continue.

I’ve never known a man who thought it was ‘cute’ when a woman cried, and frankly if I ever met one, I’d run. That’s just way too odd and brings to mind too many questions and possible issues that he may (likely does?) have.

NO its not cute...crying is sad so they might pitty you or think you`re weak...dont push your tears for cuteness...there is much better ways.

Well not actually all girls. But you can see some pretty things when some girls cry which you haven't noticed when they are not crying. And it is very cute to see that pretty face.

they like to see you vulnerable and that they are there for you to cry on their shoulders. plus it gives them a really good excuse to be all cuddly and protective like they want to be without looking like a wimp. guys love taking care of their girls! just beware if they say you look cute when your mad too...
