I think that its possible. There will be some definite age barriers to overcome....but it can work. Your biggest issue might be what your family and friends think.

I'm sorry but as a long term prospect it is not viable. When she is your age you will be 81. It won't be the grow old together kind of romance. She would be destined to be alone at the age of 60 or whatever.

Lots of answerers will tell you what you want to hear.

As I was writing I was thinking that it could be viable as a relationship. 27 years is a long time, so between her reaching your age and you getting to 81 you will have done a whole lot of living.

I will add something my aunt said. She is 55, and her husband is 12 years older, he has parkinsons now. And she just said she wouldn't recommend it- hard work

I assume by a "relationship" you want to get in her panties. The answer is sure, there are a lot of loose 27yo women who would drop them for a 54 year old as long as you give her lots of nice gifts/buy her a car and pay the rent on her apartment. What other reason would a 27 yo want with a 54 yo. Just like you are attracted to her for her youth.

yes, it happens every once in a while. My wife's aunt married a much older man - and when he died he was 94 and she was 56? that was a huge age difference, but they got along great. age doesn't matter as much as personality fit, etc. But in some ways you kinda wonder why someone would marry someone half their age. What are your motives? My brother is dating someone half his age right now - I think he wants someone to take care of his kids, and an attractive woman and she wants someone with money. But what happens when the money is gone? Or she doesn't like the kids, or when she doesn't look all perfect and another one comes around that looks better. depends on your reasons and how well you know each other.

Yes. This is probably the millionth time I've heard this question on Yahoo Answers! Age has absolutely NO RELEVANCE. There's no such thing as I can't love her because she's 'too old' or 'too young'. Thats the stupid negative stigma and pressure that society has placed on us. Who's going to have to live with this person for the rest of your life? You or your friends. You or society. It doesnt matter what OTHERS think. Your the one whos being affected. Don't live life with regrets. All that matters is that you both love each other and thats all that counts.

*Update* - Yes I saw something someone else had mentioned that I'd forgotten. Make sure she's not a gold digger. Sometimes, women do date older men to use them as their "sugar daddys" or are 100% gold diggers. Just be careful.

Ah, there is nothing like the passion of the younger woman. She invigorates you doesn't she? All your cares seem to slip away as she breathes life back into your time-worn existence. By 27, she knows the ways of the world. She isn't a kid. Give her a chance.. if she's willing to give you one. You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Better not! Move on! Find someone who's having trouble seeing the words on the newspaper, hearing the news, and having arthritic problems like you. She needs to play, laugh, and run.
