There is always something to do or see. All hours. I read some other comments about high rents....Rent is high only for people who MUST live in Manhattan, you can live in the outskirts for way less and still be close enough to enjoy all it has to offer. Most out of towners don't realize that because they are near obsessed with living "in the city". I have news for you, it's ALL "The City". You'll love it. But the pace might send you into a tail spin if you are not from a big city already.

Because you do not have to drive 30 minutes to get anywhere.
On my block, without having to cross the street, I have my:
dry cleaner
post office
barber shop
food store
chinese restaurant
shoe store (I do not go there)
lawyer office
car rental place
3 bars/restaurants
3 delis
and a few other places that I know nothing about.

There's more talent per square foot in NYC than anywhere else in the world. NYC attracts the best in all fields from the arts to business. If you could make it there, you could make it anywhere.

unless money is of no issue then move to new york but just know rent is crazy.
