I work full time and without this drug all i want to do is sleep and eat. Im in financial ruin. Doctor says try will power but i have and it didnt work

You could try finding a Narcotics Anonymous Meeting.

NA is based on the Twelve Steps, and the only requirement for joining is the desire to overcome your addiction.

I've known people who have had great success with Narcotics Anonymous, and it might be worth a try for you.

I am en ex addict myself. I am 3 years clean from crack cocaine. I was just 16 when i cleaned up and all i used is determination and willpower. I just STOPPED. It took a long time to get to the point where i realised that i just couldn't live like that any more!!

If you really, really want to stop, you will. Write down the advantages & disadvantages of stopping/not stopping (And for sure you won't be able to find any plausable disadvantages!!). EG: Adavantages: better mental health/no feeling like s*** every day/concentration/relationships with family and friends! Seeing it on paper will bring it to life more.

Remind yourself EVERY day what you've got, and THINK where you may be in 3...4....5....10...years time if you carry on. The only places you will be if you carry on are...in PRISON......A MENTAL INSTITUTION......or....DEAD!!!

Addicition only gets worse, never better. The earlier you stop the better as the longer you carry on the harder it will be to stop.

I am 3 years clean yet still crave, and always will. Once that 'pathway' is opened up in your mind it will always be there but it's being mindful and understanding the addiction that is the key. Once you understand it, you can fight it.

Please believe me, once you have 'escaped' this awful drug and take a step back, you will realise how bad things were. And i am confident that once it's out of your system you will feel so good that you won't want to start again! I was left wondering why i hadnt' stopped sooner.

With little attention to the mental health needs of an addict, little progress will be made with recovery. You must have support ready for when you stop. You will need recovery work.

In the end, and i'm speaking from experience, unless you stop now, you will be at this point a thousand times.... would you rather be there now or in 20 years time, wishing you'd done it years ago as you have wasted so much of your life.

You will always end up back here. Why do later what you can do now?

I KNOW it's hard. I KNOW there is temptation. I KNOW it seems easier to carry on.

But i KNOW that if you don't stop, it will get A LOT worse. It's a vicious cycle.

Please do this - FOR YOURSELF!!!

If i can do it, you can.

Let's fight against these terrible drugs before thay fight us - and WIN.

You have to want it (to overcome the addiction), and you have to want it bad. Denial is the #1 symptom of an addiction, so you could be off to a good start! Check in to an in-patient, non-medical treatrment center if you can afford it - particularly if you have health insurance that covers it. It's a good way to get a jump start on learning to live without speed or other stuff.

Either way, you'll need to go to Narcotics Anonymous. It's an excellent, non-threatening, free program. Check it out - go to just one meeting a day for 30 days. The meetings last about an hour. You don't have to say anything, just go. Nobody will judge you. You can do it, and your problem is not unique. Others who have been exactly where you are right now are there to kindly help you and support you. It works, but you gotta want it.

Try to wean yourself slowly from the the drug. Decrease your dose every two days.... that way you don't experience sudden withdrawal symptoms. Keep the faith and the will power. Try talking to a trusted friend who can give you moral support. It will work, if you want it badly enough to work! Get professional help from a drug addiction specialist. This is best because he can give you a program that you can adapt to. You can do it! Oh, yo didn't mention what kind of drug it is....

The thing is, at first when you stop taking a stimulant you will feel tired all the time, but if you stay off it for a few weeks you should start feeling normal again and getting your energy back.

If you had will power then it would have worked. Very hard question, isn't there a rehab place where you are, then go and get some help.

Ok, I will tell you and I hope you will try it as hard as you can. First, go to the drug store and get a bottle of Nyquil green, and do a count down to the weekend, start on Monday and take less and less speed each day, do it slowly so you dont get the heebie jeebies but do reduce the amount enough so you are getting somewhere by wednesday evening.. ok, then on Thursday take as little as possible and drink coffee to keep you alert through the day, friday less speed, have coffe but only until about two pm, then when you get off work on friday, go home and set up your house for success. make sure you have clean face cloths, Halls, cherry cough drops, two gallons of distilled water, only distilled!!! and a big glass. take one dose of nyquil green by6:30 PM and then get into your sleep wear and get everything ready for the night, brush your teeth, wash your face, neck hands or take a quick shower dry hair fast, then get into bed and watch tv until you begin to get sleepy. (ps dont do any speed at all after twelve oclock noon, period!!! or it wont work) by nine pm, if you are still awake, take one more dose of nyquil green all at once, with a sip of water and go to sleep. Saturday, get up, no coffee, not speed, more nyquil, you are going to try to sleep the entire weekend or most of it while your body is coming off the speed and detoxing. The pain releiver in the nyquil will help, but drink lots of water to flush the speed out, by two pm, eat some soup, but not a cream based soup, have tomato, or chicken noodle, no milk, water, then more nyquil and back to bed, you will start sweating by now, that is ok, the face cloths should be near by, keep a clean wet, cool cloth to wipe your face and head, then back to bed, and keep doing this until sunday evening, take another dose to sleep through sunday night and then,,, Monday morning, get up and take vitamin C, a multiple vitamin and eat cereal for breakfast, not too much, eat the cherry cough drops all day to keep your mouth occupied. have a normal lunch, you wont be feeling that bad by then, and as soon as you are done with work, get a light dinner and then drink a big glass of water, walk around the block twice to make the muscles release more toxins and breathe deeply, then a couple of cough drops, one more dose of nyqull and go to bed to sleep for the night. by Tuesday you should be free of the drugs and ready to deal with the emotional and "escape" parts of the usage. Make a rule right off the bat, everytime the message comes up in your brain to do drugs, go for a walk around the block twice. Even if it is as soon as you get back home from the walk, go again. drink as much distilled water as you can, take your vitamins. Tuesday evening when it is time to go to sleep, take a half dose of nyquil, wednesday you dont need it, you should be done. you must get a replacement activity for this habit that is not destructive. if you need energy in the daytime, go to the healthfood store and bet a natural powdered root called NATURAL RAW GUARANA, it is just like the best natural engery you ever hadlllllllllllllllllllllllllllll and to continue to cleanse the poisons out of your body, you can buy a product called spiralina or super blue green algae, excellent, better than speed for energy, you wont beleive how much wonderful natural energy you will have, and to sleep at night, take melatonin only 3mg per day!!! no more and you will be right as you were before taking drugs... as you become normalized, you can lay off the raw gaurana, and blue green algae, or spiralina and if you no longer have sleeping problems, you can ween yourself off all of it, but you dont have to, it is not bad for you, it is good for you in moderate doses... Good luck, this worked like a charm. I forgot one thing, you may have hot and cold chills, get a hot water bottle or heating pad for when you are chilled, and the cool face cloths for when you are hot... let me know how you do, this is the best, most effective way to get off of the crap, dont do speed again, if you need energy, use the stuff above, it is much better for your brain and heart.
