It means that you "don't beat about the bush", you're straight-forwarded and you tell things as they are, not worrying how the others take that, you say what you mean.

I personally like that very much; not much diplomacy if you're not into politics and diplomacy.

It means that if someone asks you a question, you tell them the truth and don't dance around it. If someone asks "How do you like my new haircut" and its ugly, most people will say "Oh its cute" to keep from hurting their feelings, but you would say "I don't like it, it's too short and ugly" Some people would not like this in a friend and some do. I like people who tell me the truth even if it hurts. Have you ever seen those people on American Idol and they are so awful and you wonder "Why didn't one of their friends or family tell them they can't sing?" I would want someone to tell me. But some people don' really want to hear the truth. You don't change your ways for anyone okay? Truth is always the best answer.

To come straight to the point. Why don't you just ask them?
