Of course we do. We pray out of faith, but sometimes it is our lack of faith that God knows what's best, which causes us to question His wisdom when He says no to our prayers. I can think of prayers that He answered "no" to for me, and I remember questioning Him at the time as to why He didn't answer the way I wanted Him to. Well, looking back, if He had granted my prayer, according to MY plan, I would be dead, my child would never have been born (I was suffering with extreme morning sickness and almost died), and I would not have enjoyed the wonderful life that God had in store for me all these years. I have had many trying times through the years, when God said "no", I wondered why He allowed bad things to happen, and then I saw His wisdom in that situation much later. Good question!

When we pray according to God's will He will answer us. We pray believing that whatever God wants for our lives is the best for us. We cannot question His wisdom because His thoughts are higher than our thoughts and His ways are higher than our ways. Rom 8:26-28 tells us that we do not know what to pray but the Holy Spirit helps us with groanings which cannot be uttered so that all things will work together for our good. We do not know how to pray for all things but the Holy Spirit helps us. When we pray in tongues or in the Spirit the Holy Spirit helps us to pray for all things. This why Paul in Ep 6:11 exhorts us after we put on the full armor of God to pray ALWAYS with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. Let us all pray always in the Spirit and allow God's will to be fulfilled in our lives as God unfolds to us at each stage of our lives what we should do. Then we on the Way to the abundant life that God promises us.

I asked a similar question just 2 days ago - I was wanting PROOF that the 3 answers (yes, no & wait) was Biblical - and NOONE could give me Biblical proof.

All christians are doing is making up answers to fit the fact that MOST of time the answer is NO or WAIT - and nothing happens.

Unless the person actually does something to make something happen. The Bible does say this - take the first step and God will do the rest (paraphrased) - which means if you want God to do ANYTHING you have to do something about it first - and most christians are too lazy to take that first step.

hello there...first and foremost please look forward to God. When i do not seek for God i do not know yet and i have same question with you but God is so good, as i go on searching for Him He reveal his power and kindness to me. Going back to your question. i do question His wisdom or compassion when He says "no", and you know what he said to me? He has 3 kinds of answer whenever we ask in prayer, the NO, YES AND LATER.

No - When he knows it is not good for us or if it will hurt others
Yes - because we deserve it and it is really meant for us, a gift from the Father.
Later- because there are always time for us, setting everything in perfect.

God Bless!

I've never heard GOD say no or yes for that matter, but He has answered my prayers numerous times. It just didn't happen on my time line, but I never questioned His wisdom or compassion.

14 "Return, faithless people," declares the LORD, "for I am your husband. I will choose you—one from a town and two from a clan—and bring you to Zion. 15 Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding. 16 In those days, when your numbers have increased greatly in the land," declares the LORD, "men will no longer say, 'The ark of the covenant of the LORD.' It will never enter their minds or be remembered; it will not be missed, nor will another one be made. 17 At that time they will call Jerusalem The Throne of the LORD, and all nations will gather in Jerusalem to honor the name of the LORD. No longer will they follow the stubbornness of their evil hearts. 18 In those days the house of Judah will join the house of Israel, and together they will come from a northern land to the land I gave your forefathers as an inheritance.

19 "I myself said,
" 'How gladly would I treat you like sons
and give you a desirable land,
the most beautiful inheritance of any nation.'
I thought you would call me 'Father'
and not turn away from following me.

20 But like a woman unfaithful to her husband,
so you have been unfaithful to me, O house of Israel,"
declares the LORD.

21 A cry is heard on the barren heights,
the weeping and pleading of the people of Israel,
because they have perverted their ways
and have forgotten the LORD their God.

22 "Return, faithless people;
I will cure you of backsliding."
"Yes, we will come to you,
for you are the LORD our God.

23 Surely the idolatrous commotion on the hills
and mountains is a deception;
surely in the LORD our God
is the salvation of Israel.

24 From our youth shameful gods have consumed
the fruits of our fathers' labor—
their flocks and herds,
their sons and daughters.

25 Let us lie down in our shame,
and let our disgrace cover us.
We have sinned against the LORD our God,
both we and our fathers;
from our youth till this day
we have not obeyed the LORD our God."

Even if you fail some times you will succeed some too and instead of wasting time as a religious prayer junkie you can actual do good and make a real difference for some innocent deserving individual. hoorah!

God hears all the prayers of the righteous. But consider the following:

A Christian hunter is hunting bears in the woods. While walking up a hill he grabs a branch for leverage and it breaks sending the hunter tumbling down the hill, gun flying off elsewhere. When the hunter dusts himself off he sees a huge bear charging him. The hunter begins running, but trips and falls, landing on his knees. Seizing the opportunity, and being a good Christian, the hunter begins to pray, "Lord, make this bear a Christian."

The woods are quiet, the hunter turns and, Hallelujah! He sees the bear on his knees, paws together, praying! Listening, he hears the bear praying, "Father, bless this food to my body."

The point here is that God answers prayers of the righteous, but the answer you get may not be the answer you wanted, BUT it will always be the right answer.

Thats a very wise question my friend, we must believe that there is a wisdom behind with-holding our prayers, and we have to believe that it is for our own good.
But u know the human race is ignorant!
