I read the most quotations book of prophet I surprised that most quotes are the persons who meet the prophet in short time but they refer most quotation as abu huraira became muslim before one year the death of prophet but mostly quotation from him why Muslim didn’t take the mostly quotation from the family member who know the better and true sources of prophet Muhammad quotation is it not contradictory.

It is important to understand why this happened. People who were close to the Prophet such as those who visited him frequently were many but out of those only few could write and record. Abu Harira could do that and he recorded whatever he had heard from Prophet. This was the reason why these quotations were written by him. One more thing, these quotations have been verified and only the authentic ones are given place in 7 books of quotations, the rest are considered 'old' and suspected.

unanimity is the key word smart. But some quotations even if they were made by family members are not backed by those who were close to the Prophet at the time.
