I have deaf parents. Living in a world of hearing and the deaf. Each world does not except me. The hearing, since I am a women, men think I will bear a deaf child. The deaf world hates me because I can hear. Just wanted to know if anyone out there has the same experience

Any man who thinks you will have a deaf child just cuz you have deaf parents is ignorant. I'm sorry but I'm deaf and I think that is ignorant. And actually I usually consider myself hard of hearing because I don't quite fit in with hearing people because I can't hear conversations well enough to follow them, yet I have trouble using things like the new video phone and talking with ASL using deaf people because my ASL isn't fluent enough....I use more signed english or conceptually accurate signs. So I understand where you're coming from.

I have a deaf dad, and hearing people don't think I will bear a deaf child. I'm a woman. And I have lots of deaf friends they don't hate me because I hear. I don't understand your situation. Mine is nothing like yours.

any men who wouldnt want to marry you because you may have a deaf child is weak.
Thank God you dont want someone like that.
Get over feeling sorry for yourself.
I have deaf friends and family. They are a delight.
I live in both worlds. I am happy.

I was born deaf, but I wear hearing aids to hear. I grew up with hearing people. My sister is completely deaf. My parents tried to get me into a deaf school when I was younger, but they wouldn't accept me, because I could hear with hearing aids & speak.
