I recently flew across the country, tickey costed 900 bucks, and was 6 hours. This terriblely obses woman sat next to me and spilled over and nder my seat. I seriously could not move and was surrounded by her flesh. Why should I have to pay the same as her when she made my trip so uncomforable and took up more than half of my seat. Ewwwwe

You know I have paid more for my bags if I am over the limit,, maybe plane tickets should be priced according to pound, and I would have more more to buy organic apples.

Yes, they should have a ticket which details the max wieght without surcharge. They do it for baggage, why not the person's wieght too. If you have a plane with 400 people, each at 200 lbs vs a plane with 400 people each at 500 lbs it makes a difference on fuel economy and distance the palne can travel without refueling. In other words, if cost more to fly the 500 poung fatso than it does to fly the 200 pound normal person.

If the flight wasn't full you could have asked to be reseated. I do this all the time to avoid sitting in the middle seat.
I don't think that overweight people should have to pay more to fly as long as they fit in the seat. If they don't fit in the seat, then they should have the option of paying for a second seat.
Please be aware that people who are overweight don't always have control over whether or not they are overweight. I'm a plus sized woman due to medical issues. The medications I take to manage my medical condition cause me to gain weight regardless of what I do, and make it almost impossible to lose weight. It is not a matter of will power or being addicted to food. Unless you've dealt with the issues I have, you have no idea how hard it can be.
And for what it's worth, I do fit in a normal seat without the need to a seat belt extender or "spilling over" into the seat next to me.

This is one reason I don't fly anymore - I don't want to get into a situation where I can't fit in the seat and it makes the person next to me uncomfortable. I drive just about everywhere. No, I don't think overweight people should have to buy two tickets. The airlines should make their seats bigger. I don't know about the other countries, but the average American is plus-size. It's time the airlines recognize this and stop their discrimination. If you think it was disgusting having to sit next to an overweight person that made you uncomfortable, then you must not have seen much of the world. There's a lot worse to be disgusted by nowadays. It's not your fault that people are overweight, but it is your fault that you are judgmental and insensitive.

If someone really does not fit in one seat, he/she should purchase two seats. Most airlines already have this policy but few of them actually enforce it; unfortunately they leave it up to the flight attendants to decide and most of the time, the FA's don't want to have a confrontation. So if you are in this situation again, discreetly ask the FA to assign you a new seat. And if the flight is full, then discreetly ask the FA to enforce this rule before your flight takes off. Just make sure you are discreet and polite. No one likes it when you point out their flaws; it's not like the fat people don't know they're fat. No need to be hurtful but you're entitled to be seated without some stranger squishing over into your space, so speak up for yourself.

Definitely NO....for a single seat.
Definitely YES......if the person needs 2 seats. And if they do not fit into a standard seat, they should be obliged to buy 2 seats ! And if they cannot pay for it, they should NOT travel per air !!!

I thought if they were a certain size they have to pay for 2 seats. but I guess not. They should get two seats for the comfort of themselves and the person sitting next to them.

But if they do, overweight people will feel hurt and discriminated. I recommend that the flight company weigh them and charge them accordingly. That way, slim people benefit and overweight people are not discriminated against.

What if you were her? Would you want to pay more for something that may not even be your fault?
